Yes, and WCS should be moved to korea while koreans can now double-dip GSL and WCS while foreigners can only play GSL

What a comment. Koreans are actually BARRED from Circuit events. Nobody is barred from GSL.

Koreans just aren't interested in SC2. No need to cater to them. They get about the same money for their scene as the rest of the world combined already. I think you're half right, but region lock really dampened the momentum and interest the korean scene had, I don't think it's recoverable at this point

You realize that even if Koreans could play in WCS, it wouldn't save the scene? The only people who would benefit from it (enough to warrant the plane tickets) are the people who consistently and reliably beat foreigners. Those people (stats, maru, dark, classic, etc...) are not the people suffering in Korea. The people suffering in Korea (alive, Losira, ragnarok), couldn't even make it far in WCS even if they could.

I don't think requiring players to stay in a foreign country for 2 months is exactly attractive, though. It's practically a barring in that regard. Many of the players who decided to stay in Korea long-term eventually got burnout from the stress. I'm one of the (very few) people who don't want to see Serral in a GSL, unless he's willing to live with his brother and train there long-term, because he's shown that a big chunk of his power comes from the support of family and community.

We can discuss that but that doesn't really have anything to do with Feardragon's foolish comment. Saving the scene would take years I think. But of course it would help it if there were WCS Challenger in Korea that could send players there to play. Nevertheless, if WCS actually continues and region lock is lifted I'm sure a new type of system would be better.

It's not attractive to all but the majority of top foreigners has stayed at the team house precisely because it gives access to GSL and the Korean training environment. That's very attractive, and a number of them has actually settled there semi-permanently.
