I hope soO doesn't get another 2nd place... And Serral still manages to look pretty good in defeat (unlike Maru). Now that Terran is out of the tournament I think Maru looks very good. His 2-0 vs Dark is the single most impressive thing a Terran did during this tournament. It is more impressive than Innovation 2-1ing Serral. While Serral is probably the best ZvP and ZvZer (despite this loss to Soo) I don't even think he is top 3 in ZvT. Do you really? Leenock and Neeb played well, but not that well. He looked off but he still barely lost to them. Almost every terran in this tournament lost to someone you wouldn't normally expect them to. Maru probably had the most impressive single match performance of the whole tournament for Terran but at the end of the day he was still out in the group stage. Hard to say he performed strongly with that in mind. All Terrans were out in the group stage besides TY who had a 3 terran group and really easy zergs. Maru would have gotten out of that group as well. Maru's group was not nearly hard enough that he should have been eliminated. I can justify Special not making it. I can justify Inno and Gumiho not making it. I can justify Bunny and uThermal not making it. But Maru has no excuse, and you're using one match that was played after Dark already won the group to make it out like Maru got eliminated while playing really strong. In reality, Maru played far below his potential, which is true for most of the Terrans in the main tournament, including TY. None of them were really convincing for more than 1 series. yeah I like Maru but he just underperformed big time, it happens

Which to me was none of them. I didn't realize this discussion had anything to do with game balance.

Gumiho at least had the BC game. that wins the award since they all were destroyed several times.

Hard to look convincing if you are playing an uphill battle, so I don't see that as a very good argument

Tbf. half of the pages is people accusing each other from not distributing the love for players according to their skin color in the exact way they like it.
