I will never understand why people cheer for a foreigner for no reason other than them being born outside of korea You see what I mean when i mention hate? Here's another one implying Serral is loved because he is not korean. That's such an incredible bias. Might be that people cheer for Serral because he is unbelievably good? Five meaningless and boring series then there comes a ZvZ involving Serral and you have incredible games. His streak and period of domination are unprecedent, the weird fact was actually him not dropping a game in the extremely volatile Sc2. This weekend he showed up with uncharacteristic errors, weird indecisiveness and questionable decision making by his standards still looking an absolute top tier player. He deserves nothing but respect. Sure and all the koreans suck which is why not as many people cheer for them. I'm pretty sure this guy is just a massive troll he's not very good at it so it's not that entertaining. he's like the foreigner version of Rodya just not as good If it's Rodya's alt and they start arguing at each other it'll quickly become next lvl plot twist
I am not a good troll because I am not a troll. Impressive plot twist, uh? And I am definitely not the one "spouting bullshit", I don't share anything with Rodya.
You cannot invalidate Serral's victories and numbers, you just have a different point of view on the quality of his victories that leads you to massively underestimate them.
This discussion never was productive and it's starting to become nasty in tones.
By the way, Stats is great.

Hard to say he performed strongly with that in mind. All Terrans were out in the group stage besides TY who had a 3 terran group and really easy zergs. Maru would have gotten out of that group as well. Maru's group was not nearly hard enough that he should have been eliminated. I can justify Special not making it. I can justify Inno and Gumiho not making it. I can justify Bunny and uThermal not making it. But Maru has no excuse, and you're using one match that was played after Dark already won the group to make it out like Maru got eliminated while playing really strong. In reality, Maru played far below his potential, which is true for most of the Terrans in the main tournament, including TY. None of them were really convincing for more than 1 series. All of the best Terrans in the world played below their potential. That's so much more likely than the alternative. I thought we were discussing who was the most impressive Terran this tournament. Which to me was none of them. I didn't realize this discussing had anything to do with game balance. Gumiho at least had the BC game. that wins the award since they all were destroyed several times. Bunny was definitely not the best terran but I was really happy with how he played and I think overall he showed good games He had some really good TvZ. A shame he was never more than a promise because on a good day he has that CJ terran style attacking everywhere all the time. I often think of Bunny's play as similar to TY but just somewhat worse in every aspect. he's like a more aggressive TY that is way worse at late game control and like drops a little too much, makes for very fun games though He's a lot worse at making SCVs and late game but he has huge balls of steel and always stays true to himself. Like TY doesn't rely on his multitasking to win every game (for some reason), but Bunny will just play his style over and over and try to hammer away at his opponents' sanity. Which is admirable.

Especially when it implies dropping marines everywhere. A terran that keeps dropping will always deliver good games (and sad loses)

That gave him several points surely, by being 2nd to another kong contender, but it doesn't make up for the sheer prolificity of soO at getting 2nd places, so i guess that makes Dark the Kong of Kongs

I'm sure Maynarde has no idea Stats is 13-2 against herO in offline matches, the most one-sided matchup among top Protoss players.

besides maybe dark, stats was the nightmare matchup for neeb
results were expected

Good to see SC2 tourneys consistently have higher viewership than hearthstone and have done so for quite a while now. How is OW doing in this regard?

Bunny and Ragnarok might break out, they are missing something but they could make it, they have the skill.

It would be doing good if it was a standar esport scene. Since the OWL is so much different it's hard to know, probably not has big as they expected I think? Some company are suppose to have pay mad money for entry into the league

Only people who aren't kongs remaining are herO and Solar lol

Yeah I think Serral brings in a lot of viewers. Too bad Blizzard is cutting back their investments into sc2.

The whole gap closing thing is used by the casters to hype people that don’t really follow sc2. Yeah, Serral and Neeb can win vs anyone , but even a guy like Ragnarok can stomp all foreigners and become a great player. Look at the history of HSC or IEM, Koreans top everything and one/two foreigners do decently. The gap is still enormous
