Honestly I like their GSL style better. It's like between HSC and WCS...you could tell today they held back and tried to be "professional".

lmao we actually got Has in the final

Has may have lost the finals but I'm sure he has won our hearts, with that cheese + weird plays. Ranked 7 now. He needs a couple more to stay on track for Blizzcon.

If he wins the next Taiwan challenger, that's 200 points for the challenger + 100 points for automatic top 32 finish in Montreal. At that point I think he'd need to be quite unlucky to miss out.

i am scared to think that if Serral wins Montreal he'll set the bar for best foreigner on unreachable level.

watched the vods, damn Has, what a run, but Serral is just a god
the champagne got him good though lol

Yep. Winning tournaments in which Koreans are banned means nothing. He won all these foreigner tourneys yet didnt win IEM or WECG... surprise surprise.
Casters hype him up so much, wonder what they'll say when hes swept at GSL vs The World.

Even if Serral wins every region locked WCS for the next 5 years, if a foreigner won GSL and then did nothing ever again the GSL win would still be a bigger achievement same with Blizzcon and IEM Katowice.

Well you only think glory here I think so. But players think more prize money. If you win all WCS Circuit events you will make more money than winning just only one GSL event. I think for Serral it is wise to this year "only" win all WCS Circuit and do the best in Blizzcon. Perhaps next year he aims for GSL. Probably first want to win a house worth of money first. Also joining GSL make some costs and it is more stressful to join both GSL and WCS and may decrease your chances, or whatever other consiquences there might be. Perhaps if you calculate all ods concentrating only winning all wcs circuit events is better bet.

Serral didnt win IEM or Wesg but in WESG he was 3rd. He won 3rd place after beating Classic 3-1. Sure this means a lot and tells alot about his skill.

He didn't win IEM or WECG, and so you conclude that he'll be swept at GSL vs The World? Your logic is flawed. He won his group at IEM beating Rogue, Impact, Neeb, Zest, and Nerchio, and beat Trap in the bracket stage to end up in top 4 before losing to Classic, who he beat to end up 3rd at WESG.

GSL is for the glory, WCS is for the money. I don't disagree with his choice of going for the second one. Being realistic, GSL doesn't pay too much and you can be knocked out pretty easy. It is not worth it. It is big achievement for sure but I don't blame him, he alreadymade hostory winning 3 WCS in a row

Casters hype him up so much, wonder what they'll say when hes swept at GSL vs The World. It probably does mean something though. For example even at his peak year (1.10.11-1.10.12) when he won IPL 3 and NASL 3 Stephano wasn’t as dominant against fellow foreigners. He had a 350-89 overall record (79.73%) and a 148-18 record (89.16%) in bo3+ series. While during the last 8 months, after the 4.0.0 patch, Serral is 208–39 (84.21%) and 66-5 (92.96%) against them.
But yeah Serral only managed to get 3-4th and 3rd in those two tournaments with Koreans because he lost a series against Classic and Maru after beating other quality players. The hype for him by casters has mostly been completely appropriate. It’s not like they’re saying Serral is now the best player in the world or the best foreigner of all-time.
A sweep would obv. be a disappointment even with the quality of the competition.

does anyone know if replays have been released?
