Game 1 Scarlett went for some sort of Dasan tailored build with a fast ravager behind Nerchio's gold
Game 2 On Apotheosis, Scarlett lost a ton of drones to slow banelings walking in
Game 3 Was a pretty long roach/ravager positional game on New Gettysburg. Scarlett went for some big attack, while Nerchio got mutas, but still took severe damage. Scarlett then went for infestors to defend, and eventually went for a spire and surprised Nerchio with 10 mutas. After the big engagement they both remaxed on mutas, but Scarlett had more + fungal + queens.
Game 4 and 5 I think I went to eat lunch, so idk.

Except I prefer watching players I care about. Matches are better when I actually care about who wins. Since I watch mostly Koreans I know those players better. In that case you should also be sad that the pre2015 Koreans were banned, cause you would have even more than 7 back then. Well obviously that goes without saying. I don't want region lock to begin with. But if we have to have region lock I would prefer the 2015 model over the 2016 one. Also, I normally try not to complain about it to begin with, because I don't really feel it adds anything to complain, I just don't watch instead.

Well then your position is rational, but it doesn't go without saying at all. Part of why we got the 2015 system is because the community pushed for it. The 2016 system is the one who gets shit on, not region locking in general. There was no talk of WCS welfare in 2015, that system went swimmingly.

Honestly though, is there really that much complaining to begin with really, are you sure that it isn't just a few vocal people? Just like there used to be a few people who posted stuff like "Oh, only Koreans left in the tournament, time to stop watching." back then.

If nobody speaks against them, then "a few vocal people" become the voice of the community.

So I'm speaking against them.

The truth is that it feels more "welfare" than last year because there are more tournaments where this region locking actually applies. Last year we had three seasons which are these championships now, additionally we now have other "weekend" wcs tournaments region locked as well. That wasn't a thing last year. That's the reason people shout these statements. Another truth is (probably) that if it wasn't for that region lock we probably wouldn't have sc2 at any dreamhack/IEM this year.

There aren't more tournaments where it applies, there are less tournaments where it doesn't apply.

Obviously the whole system changed and weekend tournaments is all what is left of wcs, but looking at it from the "more region locked tournaments" pov is totally valid.

Because it is. What really changed is basically three wcs seasons becoming three championships AND the rest of weekend tournaments deciding to region lock (they were part of wcs last season as well).
Foreigners got more "region locked stuff" to play in, koreans got less tournaments to play in. That's what actually happened.
