I don't understand why jjakji didn't continue to build after that 1 supply that blocked the bridge. If he built another supply behind that initial one, and then an ebay afterwards, he could have forever delayed the push..

Artosis is actually wrong about not fighting liberators. You should fight them early and keep the count down, especially when you're low on anti air. Otherwise the next fight looks like this. 3 liberators are so much stronger than one.

Well in this case he said Dear shouldn't fight into the one liberation zone, which I think is wrong. I think he should have fought that. With an economic advantage (and especially with a charge/archon army), any small trade is good for him. The bigger the army gets, the more difficult it is to fight with charge/archon, especially with a higher liberator count as you have close to no anti air.

Yeah. As much as i'd love Zest to advance that would be pretty fantastic. Imagine the casters imploding because Maru and Zest are losing games.

That's harsh, it's a pretty logical thing for him to do. If anything blame Stork for not announcing it faster so that they could do the match order accordingly.

I know, on his place, I would do the same, but I do not like it anyway ... It was bad that they had to play at the end ... if that happened at the beginning, it would be OK.

Come on let's not pretend like you don't see where he is coming from. I think it's dumb to hate Byun for it but the probability is fairly high.
It's bullshit to accuse them of matchfixing (yes, that's what it would be) because you saw them have friendly chats a few times. And if he doesn't join Samsung, which is still a very realistic option, it just makes you look like assholes.

Anyway, it was great to hear Artosis talk about ByuN joining Samsung, otherwise nobody could have any clue ... well, a pity, they did not play at the beginning of the day, but whatever, the next week's group will be awesome! I am just sad for Rogue. Maybe, Dear should have played against Rogue first, win and then everything would have been fine.

I'm not throwing anything around. I don't want anything to be done about it, and I think it's kind of stupid to expect any player to do anything else in that specific situation. I'm just saying that it's foolish to pretend that it doesn't look like it when it obviously looks like it.

If it is not an implicit accusation of match-fixing then I don't see where Diabolique is coming from either. If you want to accuse somebody of match-fixing then you need some actual evidence. Until then we should go with the less insidious assumption that Byun played poorly because he didn't care because he had already qualified.

Did I say I don't see it? I'm just saying he could very well be wrong and he's accusing them of match-fixing. And I don't know if you know, but match-fixing is kind of a huge deal and those accusations shouldn't be thrown around so easily.

I know, it was the same like Cure vs Trap in one group, they played at the very beginning, each of them won their away map, a little bit stupid, but playing first against each other is the best that can be done. It is certainly a disadvantage of the system.

The system acknowledges that players will do that when they are put in the situation by making players of the same team play each other first. If we really expected players to not do this type of stuff when they are in this type of situation, there would be no need to change the order of the games. There is such a need, because players have huge incentive to do exactly that. This "accusation" is just that Byun might have done what any other player would have done. It's not a big deal at all, but there's no reason to act blind either.

Thank you for describing it so politely, I absolutely agree. Nobody is considering ByuN a matchfixer, nobody is saying, he throwed the game. It is just the thing, when you play against your team mate or a future team mate, you do not give it 100%.

I realize they would be, I'm just saying I don't think they should. I think there's a big difference between throwing a match for money and throwing a match cause it doesn't matter to you and it favors your team/friends/whatever. I think the latter is the fault of the organization for not creating a situation where this couldn't happen.
Btw people weren't adamant that Marineking was a matchfixer because of the size of the witch hunt ~~

There are degrees of match fixing, let's not bring the highest degree into the discussion
Agreed on ByuN having problems with TvP. Playing vs Dear on last match was kinda painful. Even casters aknowledged how Dear would play and Dear did. ByuN got rekt.
EDIT: People do matchfixing accusations so lightly under recent cases... BTW, kudos nerchio!
Diabolique, I like your sense of humour and your overall post content man, I really do. But you were the one *implying* such thing happening. Denying that and making Elentos look like the one twisting things is bad mannered, imho.
I think people should also chill a bit about match fixing. I joked about it yesterday concerning Armani and got the impression some people thought I was being serious. I mean, I rule out nothing but I obviously could not actually know

Losing games on purpose is a big deal. You're not allowed to lose on purpose and if you do, KeSPA will take your head if they can prove it. Oh right, ByuN was seen talking to Stork and Dear on camera, well I guess he's fucked.
Well no of course he's not fucked, like you said, because you can't prove it.
And if you could prove it, I don't think he should be fucked for that.
If it happened and they could prove it, ByuN, Dear and Stork would be in trouble.
For now, I'll assume he just lost because he has trouble against Protoss. Of course, you're still free to assume that he lost on purpose. But be careful what you post in the internet. I'm pretty sure there are still people who are adamant that MarineKing was a match-fixer because the witch hunt was big enough.
I'm pretty sure that's the reason why people still think he was even though official investigations found nothing.
Unless of course they think MarineKing was a criminal mastermind the likes of which the eSports scene has never seen before. And that'd be too weird.

I don't think such thing should be taken lightly and to joke about tbh
Also I agree with Elentos, even if ByuN was not doing it for money, if in any way you are manipulating the outcome of the match, according to Blizzard and KeSPA, it's already matchfixing, and they are not going to let those thing off lightly, so don't throw such accusation around, such things shouldn't be taken lightly

I don't approve of match fixing but let's not exaggerate. Also, match fixing is real and here to stay, making it taboo to joke about doesn't make it go away.
So Losira is the final hope to avoid a Zerg extermination in the RO32. Has that ever happened for any race in a Korean league? I think the closest I can recall is only Sangho advancing to RO16 for Protoss one time.

Dark and Solar are already in the round of 16 groups (there's no ro32).

So far you're the only one making jokes about it and nobody told you to stop yet. So you're golden. Rejoice!

On the contrary. It's not meant to be patronizing at all, it's a joke post with no serious message. Now it's actually like you making a joke about Armani match-fixing and people taking you seriously.
Though if you did feel patronized, well, I apologize of course.

I did not feel patronized, just disappointment. Hard to see the joke if at all but if you say so I accept of course

Honestly it might just be that this particular post was especially crappy because I've not had a great day and am not feeling too well. Sorry about that.
I still wish Impact or Rogue got through the group, we could use a new Zerg banjo.
I don't like these "jokes" about matchfixing either. As a casual viewer I get a distasteful feeling when I'm reminded of it. I was having fun reading the discussions about the matches, then suddenly it's such a downer reading these suspicions about Byun.

There were no jokes about that in the thread, just a discussion iirc

Mostly it was said at some point that ByuN might not be playing the final game against Dear seriously because they're friends and he's already qualified and then it was kind of implied that he might be losing on purpose/purposely holding back. So not really jokes. Although really nothing dead serious either, just a bit annoying.

Np, it's hard to make yourself perfectly understood in text, but more importantly, in just a few sentences. As is always properly understanding other peoples posts as well. This whole joking about match fixing thing is a good example, It's not coming across as I want it at all lol
I should just stop posting about it

I didn't mind people discussing the possibility but some said to be certain of it. I replied (Diabolique) to point him to another option. It is a weakness of this, for the most part, refreshing format

I highly doubt Byun would do that AGAIN after what happened between him and Coca years ago.

It would be a very interesting level of stupid, I'd say. Neither of them had it easy after that.
I really don't get the reaction to this. It's like you think admitting that this situation looks the way it looks is admitting that Byun is disgusting or something. It's not at all. It's very logical for him to lose this game.
There are plenty of situations where that happens and you don't blink an eye. Bratok and Stephano trying to lose to avoid whoever they had to avoid in whichever tournament that was. They were trying to lose, because they had incentive to. It's like when there was this WCS where three euro zergs won their groups and two korean terrans and Welmu finished second, and we were wondering if San would try to finish second in his group to play PvZ vs an european or not. The question could be asked because San had incentive to lose (he didn't, and lucked Welmu in the Ro8 draw). Let's say that Byun is playing Tangtang and if he loses, Zest finishes 4th and Tangtang finishes 3rd. Do you think he should try to win? He clearly has incentive to lose.
In all of these situations, you recognize the incentive, and you don't say that if it's proven the people should be thrown in kespa jail. Now you have this situation where the incentive is just as evident as long as they are friends and probably future team mates, and suddenly Byun would be a terrible person to do it, or even worse, stupid or whatever. That makes no sense.

Looking like Terran in GSL 2014.
Does that mean Thedwf is going to do a "Welcome to TParCraft" article?

Come on let's not pretend like you don't see where he is coming from. I think it's dumb to hate Byun for it but the probability is fairly high.
It's bullshit to accuse them of matchfixing (yes, that's what it would be) because you saw them have friendly chats a few times. And if he doesn't join Samsung it just makes you look like assholes.
All right let's pretend like you don't see where he is coming from then. Suit yourself.
Did I say I don't see it? I'm just saying he could very well be wrong and he's accusing them of match-fixing. And I don't know if you know, but match-fixing is kind of a huge deal and those accusations shouldn't be thrown around so easily.
There were some suspicious elements which must provoke a reaction in this match but that was not really a witch hunt even if the modos were pretty sensitives. However, a true witch hunt in TL was this: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/starcraft-2/375035-stephano-suspended-by-evil-geniuses , http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/closed-threads/375745-stephano-is-guilty . There were direct accusations of raping with no évidences except a joke and TL mods never took any measures against this, it was against the law because this was clearly a diffamation and it was far more serious than just matchfixing. All those parangon of vertu (who hide their perverted minds) disgust me of Team Liquid, those threads are really a shame for this site and all his modos who have definetly lost all their crédibility for me. So, don't be so annoyed by this, it has been far worse in the past.
