You gotta be joking. Back then there were no Kespa players, and the game was still relatively new. Right now we've got the toughest competition that Code S has ever had, IMO, with the weaker players migrating to the other, weaker regions, since they couldn't cut it anymore in Korea, thus leaving only the best ones around. Not to mention that the game and the various stategies have been figured out much better by now. I'm pretty sure that if MVP decided to come back to GSL right now, he wouldn't even get into Code S, or that he'd fall in the RO32 at best.
I think the first player that can get tripple crowns and stay super consistent in GSL might be considered for a title like that. If he does that for 2 Years.
That sounds like a good measure, though the way things are looking right now, I don't think that there will be a player like that for a long time, unless soO keeps up his Code S finals streak an then also starts killing international tournaments next year. The game's been out for over 4 years now, and we never really had anyone close to that.

yes, when the level of play is this high, consistency IS the new dominance imo. it's just not possible with variance and short series for someone to just completely blow everyone out of the water when the brackets are so stacked. and that's a good thing! more great players = more great games
TvZ Final, the dream is real. Now let's just hope it's the best final ever, with lots of tense macro games (including some starting with cheeses), different army comp (the odd mech game from the T; MLB, roach-hydra, SH, ling-infestor-ultra for the Z), etc... We might get the most epic GSL Final in a long long time !

Or maybe soO should 6pool 4 times to 4-0 in under hour.

Some of that hype is gone once you realize that you could tell the result of the finals right now. You know that soO's gonna lose to whoever he goes against. That's his thing.
Astonishing! I really hope Inno wins now so we can see one of the most exciting GSL finals ever (in my opinion ). Could someone very kindly briefly recap what happened in the games please?
