Back then there were no Kespa players, and the game was still relatively new. Right now we've got the toughest competition that Code S has ever had, IMO, with the weaker players migrating to the other, weaker regions, since they couldn't cut it anymore in Korea, thus leaving only the best ones around. Not to mention that the game and the various stategies have been figured out much better by now. I'm pretty sure that if MVP decided to come back to GSL right now, he wouldn't even get into Code S, or that he'd fall in the RO32 at best. Show nested quote +I think the first player that can get tripple crowns and stay super consistent in GSL might be considered for a title like that. If he does that for 2 Years. That sounds like a good measure, though the way things are looking right now, I don't think that there will be a player like that for a long time, unless soO keeps up his Code S finals streak an then also starts killing international tournaments next year. The game's been out for over 4 years now, and we never really had anyone close to that. There are some players who could put up a serious fight but aren't playing in GSL anymore (Taeja, Bomber first ones that come to mind). So you could say the top competitors are a bit more diluted across the scene than was once the case.
But the overall level of play is obviously higher, I don't think that's what he was trying to oppose.

Honestly, I'm really glad that we have such a good chance of seeing soO at blizzcon. Just need him to get a few points at dreamhack so him and Bogus can both make it.

Of course, if soO was cool, he'd get second place in GSL for the 4th time (4th in a row I believe, all of 2014) and let Innovation go to Blizzcon, too!

Holy shit that guy is a GSL god.
Now you better fucking win it all.

~ 59.47 % of the time soO gets 2nd in GSL S3 Code S This would change soO's Blizzcon chances from ~ 98.46 % to ~ 97.4 %
and the worst event for soO on WCS Predictor is
~ 1.99 % of the time soO gets 32nd in DreamHack Stockholm and INnoVation gets 1st in GSL S3 Code S and Life gets 16th in DreamHack Stockholm This would change soO's Blizzcon chances from ~ 98.46 % to ~ 86.2 %
not bad
