The game's been out for over 4 years now, and we never really had anyone close to that.
There are some players who could put up a serious fight but aren't playing in GSL anymore (Taeja, Bomber first ones that come to mind). So you could say the top competitors are a bit more diluted across the scene than was once the case.
But the overall level of play is obviously higher, I don't think that's what he was trying to oppose.

Yup, they make the VODs free after every season. I would direct you to the free Korean youtube VODs but GOM recently blocked them for non-Koreans

I believe soO is ~guaranteed Blizzcon finals now. Of course, if soO was cool, he'd get second place in GSL for the 4th time (4th in a row I believe, all of 2014) and let Innovation go to Blizzcon, too!
