Everyone saying he should have gone ghost/rines is an idiot. You can't just transition to bio. You have no upgrades, no stim, no combat shields, and no barracks.

Yes. But I think Stats only engaged because he saw the Thors moving out. So likely the game would have gone on for longer.

You can target with widow mines.as seen here.


Stop Micro as demonstrated in that video doesn't really work in a late game situation like vs Carriers where Observers are almost guaranteed to be around. You'll lose all your widow Mines without really a chance for them to lock onto the Carriers.

But don't believe me, I want you to go test it yourself. Try using Widow Mines vs Carriers. Interceptors completely fuck with the Widow Mine AI. Widow Mines work fine vs Void Rays and Tempests but they are completely useless vs Carriers.

I don't blame people for not knowing this since Carriers aren't exactly common, but I've for whatever reason spent plenty of games in Mech Vs Protoss fighting Carriers. The only way to really beat them is Vikings and Thors in large numbers, Widow Mines don't work.

Stop Micro isn't target firing. There's a difference.

You can stop a widow mine from firing and have it reload it's auto-lock but you can't ever manually select what it locks on to.

Why does this matter vs Carriers? Because Interceptors are always around unless you knock them out and Widow Mines lock onto them constantly.
