I'd rather see a multitasking centered game with mutalisks. presporebuff mutas was hardly a multitasking game though

It's a fine rule to follow though, since concave beats the convex really means that they have more roaches and that's the formation they get when most effective.

Considering that no one wants to make hydras Not really to get any kind of surprising amount of mutas would be nearly 1000 gas, and that is a lot less roaches so the opponent just pushes you, you have to use the mutas to defend and meanwhile they can spore up and get hydras Starcraft can always be put in those terms no matter the builds, but it's never the whole truth. It's situational, about mind-games and so on. In this particular game though? With constant scrappy aggression? No way trying to go mutas would work.
I agree in the case of this game. Just that people sometime say stuff like that in LR threads only for metagame changes to come about a few months later and disprove those theories.

It is easier on the gas and you can micro them.

ofcourse soo will win -- he very underrated

True, but it does make a difference in that the damage is concentrated on the outer ring of roaches. If you are all clumped this is not so many roaches, so they'll die more quickly. If you have a big concave this is more spread out so they die more slowly.

I'm addressing a specific question so I don't really understand what you are saying.
If you want to try Roach into Muta in ZvZ then go ahead and I would love to see the replays. In general though if there is a fairly even Roach based ZvZ you can't afford the gas dump into mutas because you will just have a lot less roaches and have to use the mutas defensively, and this gives your opponent time to get hydras and spores so what have you actually achieved?

games like that are why i'm happy i don't have to play zvz anymore. thank god i didn't get fooled into switching back when the matchup was fun with mutas only to get nerfed instantly D:

Yeah, I remember the "ZvZ can only ever muta vs muta and no other composition is remotely feasible ever".
Edit: although yeah there was the stupid spore buff. But that wasn't the entire story.
