i guess my point is... being good in sc2 shows i believe some other essence of the mind... a type of mental fortitude... you can practice for years and never get this good... its truly just an essence .... maybe a "god given skill" that you are simply born with and you can never train and i guess if you view it in that regard i guess its not as "impressive" in that regard because it would be like watching a 6foot dude beat up a 4feet tall dude... the 6foot guy was simply born with his natural innate abilities... no amount of training would allow the 4foot dude to win the fight... so i dont know i guess when i view it that way my belief that sc2 is a showing / competition of "something more" than just practice time might really downplay the greatness of winning a OSL because really your just winning with your innate natural talents that no one can train to achieve. Of course you need to train harder than everyone else and combine that training with your god given talent to win, i guess my point was someone without the god given talent will never be able to beat someone with the god given talent who trains alot, no matter how much the person without the god given talent tries.

I do understand what you are saying. SC shows a true sports spirit, higher, faster and stronger. To be the best, you literally have to go beyond humanly possible. While Dota and Lol require tons of skills, but they are basically a sense of game strategy and team working, not everyone can achieve that though. But it can never reach the true spirit of an RTS player.

Its simple. Dota2 is the more fun game and its free to play, so the player base is 10x that of sc2 and will grow even bigger. A percentage of Gamers wants to see the best at their game compete, so they tune in to tournaments and streams. Bigger playerbase means bigger streamnumbers. Besides that, Blizzard is a company who treats their customers like shit, while Valve gives the impression to care.

If you're going to use that logic then both Dota and SC2 are doomed. LoL and WoT will conquer both.
They're both free and even easier to play than either game.

After this comment you have 0 idea about dota.
Dota is almost 100x more popular and interesting to watch and the players are way more likeable than the sc2 players, I mean just look at people like chuan etc it just means so much if they win.

SC2 is not a game for majority. The "average" population of global gamers are mentally incapable of even following an SC2 stream due to prevailing ADD and lack of basic numeracy. Watching SC2 requires quite a bit of calculations, otherwise the watcher will feel like an idiot at a science fair lectured by Tasteless and Artosis.
There are several hundred thousand watching SC2 on Korean TV and Korean streams, so they get their money, don't worry.

I did not say easier to play, i said more fun to play. And WoT is the most boring game to spectate, so thats not really good for their stream numbers.

DOTA is a much more complicated game. It's really easy to notice when you just play the two of them a little bit. Dota has a ton more going on and has a far higher individual skill cap.
I'd be really bad at explaining it well though since I don't really play either game often at all.
Nice to have a Terran champion after such a long time, too bad I missed the finals. Maybe one of these days GOM/OGN will be willing to do rebroadcasts at a reasonable time for people living all the way over here in NA. Or just be nice and offer free VODs.

I was thinking this would be the case again, but with Jaedong drawing JIM in the ro8...we really may not have any Zerg for the regionals.
Though Vortix might also have a shot from EU with so much ZvP in his ro8. MMA is unlikely to make it far, TvP has always been his worst.

If MMA plays anything like he did against Naniwa, he won't take a map off HasuObs. If finale beats Naniwa then he murders Vortix I think, his PvZ has always been super sharp and deadly. And then we finally (huehue) get to see finale vs HasuObs, the final (huehuehue) we deserve
