Wow. Forfeit at this stage?
Makes sense. When I saw the he was gonna be up against Kane, I figure he was just gonna throw it.
Forfeit is even more efficient - gives Kane more time to rest/prepare for the next round.
How can people say this so casually? Isn't that essentially matchfixing?
No...Because in match-fixing the match is already pre-decided and so that betters can rig profits.
If you forfeit, no matter the reason, you forfeit. That isn't rigging the system because CatZ cannot control who Kane plays next. It is up to Kane's skill. Either way Kane probably would have won so CatZ didn't waste his time.
Actually Bubbles' play on the spot is nice to see, he sent some warped-in templars to feedback Nony's in order to prevent storms. And then he hallucinated another couple of HT to trick Nony. Nice series to watch so far.

Probably because Kane is his teammate and he thought Kane would have a better chance to advance?
Nah, you don't forfeit for that. At least, officially. Wouldn't be acceptable.
It seems he did, the official ROOT twitter (https://twitter.com/ROOT4ROOT/status/351128716266569728) tweeted: "[MLG Score Update] @ROOTCatZ forfeits his match against fellow teammate @ROOT_Kane. Kane moves onto the next round." As no reason was given it seems reasonable to assume that it was to give Kane a better run. Personally I don't see it as much of an issue as CatZ is a manager of the team and the match wasn't a very important one like a semifinal or final. What would be unacceptable would be playing the game and then throwing it.

I think its unacceptable either way to be honest.
It's actually not.
Think about it, they can force him to play and then he'd just throw the games. Same result.

Yes it is.
Matchfixing is when you predetermine matches to make money by betting on them. Forfeiting your spot in the tournament to a friend is not matchfixing
It can be for money but it can be for a sportive goal (Valenciennes-Marseille 1993). And I'm sure Kane is not really happy to go through this way. Or it shows a lack of confidence from CatZ about Kane.
