The main thing is the production, it's still lacking a lot that could be fixed so easily it's sad

I hate to start up the caster and production bashing again, but if these teams were playing in GSTL with all other things equal, I think there's plenty of hype.

just watch the korean stream

it's entertaining even if you don't understand korean (i don't)

Daybreak 2.0...

Fighting Spirit 2.0... On Korean BW servers it is the only map played.

To be frank..people talk about deathballs...in SC2 but in BWTvP was basically death ball vs deathball except this time, Terran had the mech composition whilethe toss were scrambling to get off good offensive engagements.
I think the unit clumping and the fact that there's less micro-intensive unit like the colosseus in play it isnt as impactful.

Also SC:BW had some terrible games as well.

I can live with it, I'm just saying that others don't want to put up with it. Personally, I like listening and learning how I can better understand an articulate as a player by how not to do it a lot of the time.

Edit - Also nice to see the stream finished.

Also I'm okay with the down time being just the team's current score and match ups (I'm tired of the "mind mind mind" we had yesterday >.>).

Try not to worry so much about how many people are watching and how much attention It's getting and just enjoy it. We have our little community here on TL and that's enough for me.

Last night there were 14.5k peak viewers on twitch for KHAN vs STX, It's not doing that poorly.

Okay, I wasn't around for BW but when people say things like this it makes it sound like there were no bad games in BW. Truthfully, I can't believe that. I know there's obvious bias involved in this question and answer, but were there as many "bad" BW games as SC2?

Out of curiosity I went back to some of the old BW threads and almost half of the games were not recommended. Also there was a lot of complaining about something called a "hydra bust"?

Maybe BW was a better game but there is definitely some bias going on.

When Bisu loses to a hydra bust for the umpteeth time when trying to qualify for <insert tournament here>, then yeah it's probably not going to be recommended >.>.

It's also at an awful time for either Europeans or Americans depending on the match. The division of the market cannot be a good thing for viewership.

It's like 10x better than WoL Proleague already, and the games' quality (most of them so far) are competing for the best HotS games so far.

Seriously, the stream links needs to be added soon guys !

Proleague needs to go back to being one of the best tournaments to watch.

The magic is everyone figuring out new strats and getting used to new units. In a couple of months things will get more stable but from now till maybe 3-4 months we're going to witness some amazing games. Even if they are full of mistakes, it's not because the players are bad but because everyone is still learning and exploiting that fact.

Theres more to that IMO.
The KeSPA map makers are more used to the gameplay of SC2 now.
They know the adjustments and the kind of maps to make thus some amazing maps like Sanctuary and FS coming into play.
The players are also used to the UI and the units abilities, save a few.
So it's a combination of players developing new strategies for a relatively novel game and translating better as opposed to SC:BW to SC2: WoL.
A great combination.

HotS has done an great job at improving the gameplay of SC2, so what you hear about BW > SC2 is BW > WoL. In BW, games do not end in one huge 15 second battle. When people see good games in SC2, they just watched a back and forth game. BW was a game that allowed for more back and forth and things are not as all-inny or committed as they are in SC2. That and mechanics alone can bring yourself back in a game.

BW games were (in my opinion) generally more interesting compared to Wol games. Even the bad BW games were better than average WoL ones.

Hydra bust was a zerg all in against protoss where you built Hydras and attacked, pretty much. Some BW zerg players were well known for only being able to Hydra bust against protoss.
