I think MLG was on the right track with the whole "give the good players chances to succeed" mentality, just the extended series was the wrong implementation. Extended series was more of a "punish the player for making mistakes earlier" approach. I think having a loser's bracket is rewarding players that are good without punishing worse players which to me is ideal. I'd like to see the loser's bracket again  It's always awesome to see someone pull the epic relentless battle through the loser's bracket to make it to the finals. Also it means the final placing of the players more accurately represents their skill. | ||

It all comes down to how balanced the map pool is, how many games each series is and how balanced the bracket are. There's a lot of factors to consider when comparing a single bracket to a double elimination. | ||

Thing is this tourney is not 2 koreans and a bunch of foreigners, aka almost every player is super strong, they all can knock each other out on a good day, and since this is a "new" game there is no clear favorite! I'm so excited for this MLG, it's really nice that they are 720p-free now (if it's still the case), the broadcast hours are yet again not the best suited for EU timezone but it's worth staying late :D. | ||
