It would make sense if they make R2 of Code A and then slack off on WoL, seeing as they've confirmed a spot for next season and have an Up-and-Down spot already secured. Them practicing HotS, getting dropped down to Code B and having to qualify through the Code A qualifiers with a new game is ridiculous.
Making all-ins =/= trying to lose. Just less preparation to do. Most of the all-iners won, too, so that would make your argument invalid

Well the fact is that the dropping player isn't actually a Code S player after dropping out.. Well that's just not true. Well it is, they have to drop out of Code S to get into Code A R48/32/24

If Seed plays like the Seed of last year he should easily win, but who knows what his motivation level is right now

Well i think he really wants to be in code S for when hots hits so i think he's been practicing hard.

It's a nice system to keep the best players at the top, but it can be rather harsh. Exactly. It keeps people that are worthy of Code S in code S, and the ones that have been slacking off get punished instantly. That's why they are seen as the most competitive sc2 tournament in the world, you can't slack off for a single season or else you're history.
Oh Fraggle Rock, I <3 you

Valid reasons players are doing all-ins: Pressure Metagame Brackets released too close to games
Invalid reasons: Practicing HotS

exactly this. Because of that players like Marineking, who managed to get 6 consecutive Code S Ro16 now, should get a little more respect (And I've seen a lot of MKP bashing in the last months) for remaining at the top for basically the whole WoL era.

Do explain how that works..
Not about Code B, but about dropping from Code S to Code A. That means they can requalify immediately and be back in GSL by the time the next season starts. In which case they are still a Code S player.

Invalid reasons: Practicing HotS History shows that there were points in time during BW where the metagame was super greedy and suddenly everyone started cheesing because it worked. Might be the case here.

Wait isn't this why they pushed the Code A back in time? So that the U/D can be in WoL.

Think GOM missed a trick here of not making Code A HOTS, like MLG is doing with it's qualifiers. Wait are you serious? This is still a WoL season, playing on a BETA should NEVER happen and only be the last resort. MLG and other only do this because they know that they will get bigger viewer numbers.
So you think people in Code A should be able to earn a Code A and a Code S spot for HOTS by playing WOL? Whilst practicing extensively on HOTS so they don't get behind?
Like IPL 6 for example is all about WOL, yet MLG is all about HOTS. That means everyone has to play 2 games to keep up with the demand, because most people have switched to HOTS now or are atleast practicing more on it. I can see that being a problem for the level of games we will see in both competitions, as they are pretty much right next door to each other as well in terms of dates.
I know it's a beta and things can change pretty fast, BUT in terms of keeping the games up their and to freshen things up anyway i think it would be best to do a HOTS Code A this year and a HOTS IPL 6. We are less than 40 days away from HOTS don't forget.
