It all depends on what the Zerg is investing in. Most zergs nowadays expect the pre-hive timing and focus on getting base defense and a strong defensive comp instead of getting more tech/expansions/macro infrastructure. If the Terran realizes that the Zerg is preparing in this manner, he can just scrap the push and tech/expand faster because the Zerg is investing in defense.


And tech to what? Ravens? BOOM ultralisks are in the house! Battlecruisers? Ghosts? Thors???


There is a really good game played by Thorzain recently (amongst others) that shows how to play this endgame comp. I have the replay saved on my PC but too lazy to get up and link it. I'm not going to discuss this anymore since I don't want to participate in any balance discussion and get banned.

I think there are solutions and they have already been shown by pros, it just takes a ton of patience to play the style and we probably won't see it consistently until well into HotS.

I have read the last two days. Lots of people get temp banned (including me) in other LR's for similar discussion and rightly so for derailing the discussion. Anyways I'm done, I just hope people can see that are are more options for all races in end-game. Mostly it is a combination of tech choice + unit control.
