Basic organizational skills in tournaments would go such a long way, I cannot understand how this stuff always happens.
Frankly, a tourney of this caliber, with a schedule this long, and with a company of such repute (and money) should have way beyond and above 'basic' even.
The bigger the amount of people to organize the harder it is. Even if you have more people doing the organizing.

Back when I started watching StarCraft we had to rely on the generosity of fans living in Korea restreaming broadcasts. The quality was terrible and the broadcast would frequently freeze, forcing the streamer to alternate between sources. And we were grateful for those people.
And I came here late - 2008 or so. Adun only knows how the old guard actually did it. But evidently the coddled pansies we have here would probably be cutting their wrists to Linkin Park's Crawling if they ever had to endure the like.
I know. It is like people NEED to watch a stream continuously. It is not like there are huge breaks every hour or something. Just take a break for a bit and wait for games to come back.
Well, you're in Hong Kong and not tired as hell. Some people need to have something to watch so they don't fall asleep.

It's human nature to get spoiled, whould you like to live in a shed ? We used to !
Fact is for Blizzards standards this tournament is lacking in quality.

Are you hunched over, holding your crutch and squinting when you're saying that? : D
I would, but I know there are people on this site far, far more experienced than I, and I don't want to offend them .

Seriously, what the fuck does the 08-09 era have anything to do with late 2012? Streaming is far easier to put on. We should be moving forward, not regressing. Back than streams were appreciated, because it was only a few years earlier where you were listening to podcasts with no video, or purely reading a LR thread, or watching vods a few weeks later, depending on what era you joined.
I appreciate that they have done decent so far. It doesn't mean we shouldn't be a little annoyed that they have 4 streams and dozens of games with 12 casters, and not one of them had content.

That's pretty easy to do considering IPL 5 will have way better competition than WCS finals. WCS finals has the prizepool of a world final, but not the level of players to justify it as a grand tournament since there are too few krs in it and a lot of the best, ie kr terrans are missing.

It's supost to improve we should not be thankful and in awe every time something get's hosted.

Yeah, I agree. I'm not saying criticism is invalid or unwarranted, but seriously, people commenting that this is the 'worst tournament ever'? These people need perspective.
I actually preferred the old days when I would stay up to 1:00 AM to watch Proleague. I always at least got to see the winner interviews that would be translated by someone either in the channel's chat or in the LR thread, and I would be amused by the commercials that were either zany or had to do with gaming of some sort. It wasn't really that bad. The video quality itself is much better during the BWC, but there is no life to it.
It's, "Okay, Creator wins against Nerchio! Was that the winners' match?" Cut to cut scenes for 20 minutes. Back to a new game. Repeat. There is no ongoing narrative or a panel of people to hype the upcoming matches, keep a story going, etc. I'm sure it'll be better on Day 2 with less streams and a more condense story with only sixteen players left, but may be a little too late.
I also can't wait for when the semifinals happen at the same time.
