1st nothing on all 4 streams for quite long time. Then suddenly 3 games at the same time, pretty interesting games I should say. Sad. -.-

IPL5 will be the best event of the year, as long as they don't screw everything up.

Last seasons GSL best event this year imo ^_^

Best weekend LAN event of the year*

It has everything you could ask for.

- Four day event, making sure the schedule is not too packed and they can get everything done that they want to do without having to play the finals past midnight like at IPL4
- GSL ro4 and finals, shit if this event was just the GSL ro4 and finals alone it would already be great
- GSL WC, twice, with two different formats
- Best lineup of all the tournaments in nov/dec
- GOMTV is producing the entire event, sending over 70+ employees to make sure it runs well
- Terrans, and not just Terrans, the best Terrans. Polt, Taeja, MMA, MKP, Byun, Alive, Ryung, Bomber.
- IMMvp

Back when I started watching StarCraft we had to rely on the generosity of fans living in Korea restreaming broadcasts. The quality was terrible and the broadcast would frequently freeze, forcing the streamer to alternate between sources. And we were grateful for those people.

And I came here late - 2008 or so. Adun only knows how the old guard actually did it. But evidently the coddled pansies we have here would probably be cutting their wrists to Linkin Park's Crawling if they ever had to endure the like.

We used to !

It's supost to improve we should not be thankful and in awe every time something get's hosted.

Fact is for Blizzards standards this tournament is lacking in quality.

Yeah, I agree. I'm not saying criticism is invalid or unwarranted, but seriously, people commenting that this is the 'worst tournament ever'? These people need perspective.

Hell, look at the last Blizzcon.

Yes you are correct things always get blown up on internet, just the way of things.

Things like 'worst tourney ever' are just spur of the moment exaggerations. Don't read too much into it =P

Anyone who is annoyed by the in-game sound can go to the Korean stream. The production of BWC Korean stream seems up to Gomtv quality(with great mics, balanced level of ingame sound/mics sound , and OGN casters). The Korean production is probably done by the OGN.

Good morning; There were a few sound/technical problems, but some very good games as well (recommending Titan-Curious game 3).

It's really a shame that the event is running like it is.

I won't call "worst tournament ever" because it's clearly not.

However, when EVERYONE is aware that this is going to be the event compared to TI2/S2WC (DotA2/LoL) it's a shame to see Blizzard make this many mistakes with it.

I actually preferred the old days when I would stay up to 1:00 AM to watch Proleague. I always at least got to see the winner interviews that would be translated by someone either in the channel's chat or in the LR thread, and I would be amused by the commercials that were either zany or had to do with gaming of some sort. It wasn't really that bad. The video quality itself is much better during the BWC, but there is no life to it.

It's, "Okay, Creator wins against Nerchio! Was that the winners' match?" Cut to cut scenes for 20 minutes. Back to a new game. Repeat. There is no ongoing narrative or a panel of people to hype the upcoming matches, keep a story going, etc. I'm sure it'll be better on Day 2 with less streams and a more condense story with only sixteen players left, but may be a little too late.

I also can't wait for when the semifinals happen at the same time.

Heh, maybe it's just me then. I never watched any of those, much like here, there was always a serieson OGN's stream and a series on MBC's stream and would always just switch from game to game.

Also, I mostly remember muting the stream between games because of K-pop .
I bear this sig to commemorate the loss of the team icon that commemorated Oversky's 2008-2009 Proleague Round 1 performance.

Well it's not the worst tournament ever, but it looks pretty amateurish compared to the LoL and Dota finals. This is blizzard's flagship tournament and it looks the same or even worse as any other ran tournament. Blizzard could throw all the money they want at this tournament, but money does nothing if the people hired can't do the job properly. I think it was a mistake for blizzard to host this in china. Should have hosted this in the states or....canada!
