The International was excellent, prepared well and went without a hitch.

The LoL World Championships had a LOT of problems, but they went big. They failed in a lot of ways, but they did have colorful interviews, panels talking about the games, and a continuing story build throughout the tournament.

BWC is like a flavorless pudding. It's not bad, but it just leaves you feeling hungry for more.

Meh other than some small sound issues( I may have missed some bigger ones) this has been a great event with exciting games for me. Breaks are to be expected with this many games to play. Production staff need breaks too.

Back when I started watching StarCraft we had to rely on the generosity of fans living in Korea restreaming broadcasts. The quality was terrible and the broadcast would frequently freeze, forcing the streamer to alternate between sources. And we were grateful for those people.

And I came here late - 2008 or so. Adun only knows how the old guard actually did it. But evidently the coddled pansies we have here would probably be cutting their wrists to Linkin Park's Crawling if they ever had to endure the like.

We used to !

It's supost to improve we should not be thankful and in awe every time something get's hosted.

Fact is for Blizzards standards this tournament is lacking in quality.

Yeah, I agree. I'm not saying criticism is invalid or unwarranted, but seriously, people commenting that this is the 'worst tournament ever'? These people need perspective.

Hell, look at the last Blizzcon.

Things like 'worst tourney ever' are just spur of the moment exaggerations. Don't read too much into it =P

Well it's not the worst tournament ever, but it looks pretty amateurish compared to the LoL and Dota finals. This is blizzard's flagship tournament and it looks the same or even worse as any other ran tournament. Blizzard could throw all the money they want at this tournament, but money does nothing if the people hired can't do the job properly. I think it was a mistake for blizzard to host this in china. Should have hosted this in the states or....canada!

Should have just given it to dreamhack to host.

Who the fuck is observing on the Tastosis stream? Too much/fast camera movement, so annyoing. It's not smooth and "relaxed" at all.

They need to sell Sc2 in China

I see that as the only reason why they would go all the way to China.

I hope Dreamhack will be better. Not just because I'm travelling to sweden for it.

And IPL 5 will be awesome, too.

To be fair I don't think anyone expect LoL WC to get like 8million viewers, that was the majority of their problems wasn't it?

And on the games,

This entire thing is a giant advertisement for sc2 and WoW in china, trying to tap into that huge population.

A lot?

There were two (albeit major) problems.

1: The internet issues in the venue (which wasn't the venue, but LA's internet infrastructure coming down for a bit)

2: The minimap incident.

Overall, it was a VERY well produced event.

Titan vs CJHero Game One: Shakuras Plateau

Titan spawns top right, herO spawns bottom left. HerO goes for blink play. Titan follows, getting his twighlight council later, just after HerO has started his blink research. Titan considers taking the offensive, but after sizing up herO's army he retreats and expands. HerO blinks into TitaN's base but TitaN defends and HerO is forced to retreat after taking some sizable losses. Titan then takes to the offensive, pressuring HerO's newly constructed natural while moving to colossus tech. Titan is rewarded an observer kill for his efforts. After titan's colossus is out with thermal lance he baits HerO's stalkers to the back of his base by blinking in some stalkers and then hits the front of HerO. HerO sticks around due to some good colossus control but Titan is in a commanding lead, he takes a third and when maxed and +3 attack moves in for the kill.

No, the major problems were players looking at the game screen and the internet disconnecting midgame... twice, leading to a 5 day bo3
