I kinda think GOM should have made it into a 3-man round robin. Just have each player do a bo3 against each other player. Then tiebreak if necessary.

It depends. If Rain beats Life on his way to MLG title. Even if Life wins GSL, there will still be some doubt. I mean even if Rain loses to someone at MLG, it doesn't necessary mean that he would have lost to that player in GSL (they might not play each other in GSL). But at least the noise/doubt would be a lot less.

Thaks for putting my thoughts in to words. Some of the comments above that how we should question the validity on this seasons GSL winner, because Rain was not there made me sick in the stomach. Rain is an awesome player. But lets not make him a god without results yet.

I know Rain is crazy good but MLG Open Bracket is exhausting. Banking on a win there is really wierd. I hope it's not for medical reasons though that would be sad - even if I hate his guts.

I don't think he ever said anything positive about Parting, he always gives props to Squirtle whenever Parting wins, calling him the brain behind Parting. Which is funny, because the two have a different style, and I personally think that Parting is the innovator of the two, while Squirtle is more about refining.

Attacking with SCVs was really weird, it's something I occasionally do in moments of stupid panic, but I expect YoDa to not do it. :p But, seems he stopped doing it

Odd. Both works fine, but at least Twitch never drops out, which annoyed me a bit with gom player.
you should remove by.sun from the calculations, kinda weird to see 3 ppl with above 50% when theres only 3 ppl in the gorup
Why? The percentages should sum to 200% since two people advance. By.Sun is effectively removed as it is. All that's left to do is basically just to remove the last line... which I could do, I guess.

Ok well that's good. However, if he loses to hyun, then 1-2 to Gumiho, then he doesn't advance. Despite going 3-3 against Gumi. It would come down to Yoda losing 1-2 to hyun, and Gumi getting a walkover vs rain. I think if Yoda loses to Hyun, and then 1-2 to Gumi, they should have to play again in a tie breaker or Gumi should play hyun, and if he wins he advances, loses 1-2, and he plays yoda in tiebreaker, or loses 2-0 and Yoda advances. TBH they should jut go 3 man round robin in the first place.

Hyun should've just attacked when gumiho was multi-prong attacking. He didnt understand that Broodlords are slower than tanks/thors, hence you should do what terrans should do when they fight muta's/zerglings, just attack imho

Wasn't it Gumiho who said that he's doing OK on very large maps vs Zerg? I suppose Ultralisks would have been better for Hyun, the Broodlords were way too slow on that map.

All Kespa players are patch zergs, even the terrans and protoss. HyuN isn't though, he spends his gas on banelings instead of hive.

You need a critical mass of tanks to beat roaches earlier. And even after broodlords are out you need them to fight infestors. Ghumiho failed the counter after the bane attack and that was his downfall.

I think map picking is fine for the first round, that way players have extra time to learn any new maps. Set maps for ro16 would be nice though.

It's funny because people often say Tasteless lacks passion or game knowledge, but really he's much better at predictions like these compared to Artosis, and he actually has a really good grasp of the game as well (Artosis may know more, but he's not as good at turning it into a correct conclusion).

I also find it hilarious how Artosis always praises the mech player in tvt before they get destroyed. Most common examples was Polt vs Gumiho from last season and Polt vs Taeja from the other day.

It's not just the champions. It's the second places too and even most of the people who got top 4. All of them got eliminated in ro16 or ro32 the season after they had their good run. It's really hard to have back to back deep runs in GSL. I also think it's hilarious that you call the blue-flame stuff cheese. It's pretty much guaranteed to do damage the only question is how much. MVP didn't get outplayed in any of the games. A lot of them were simple mistakes. In the second game for example if he doesn't let all his vikings get caught by fungal he should win with his pre-hive timing. There were lots of moments like that where he just made 1 mistake that basically doomed him.

Truth is MVP has figured Life out and had shown others how to beat Life. He won't be so scary this season.

I disagree. Mvp was never really far ahead at all. Yes, he could have defended but Life would have been on 5 bases and that pre-hive timing might have been non existent. Mvp's tanks were really late since he build a lot of Thors in case of mass mutas which didn't come. Mid game mech vs zerg always hinges on 2 things. 1) How much eco damage can your hellions do 2) What is the Thor/tank ratio as compare to the muta/roach ratio.

I would call BF a very aggressive build. It is like going mutas against bio/mech, your mutas need to do damage as well or you just get killed by the bio/tank push. BF also forces the zerg to be defensive and give the terran map control

He was at pretty much equal supply at a time when zerg normally has a big supply lead and he was on 4 bases while normally Terran is stuck on 3. MVP was already at 150 supply and the hive still had ~30 seconds to go. He would have had an extremely strong timing.
