In game 1 he literally ran out of minerals at every single base, and was broke the whole time.
In game 2 he almost died before his front spine wall was even up (and this is when his spire got sniped).

In BW, the game is so hard, basically race balance doesn't matter much, because no one can perfect the race to reach the biggest potential of the race, so it always ends up that players with better mechanics wins.

Do like Kespa zergs: keep a Infestor in base and Neural Parasite it + sporre will take it down (then change the Infestor so you always have a Infestor whit energy). Kespa zerg did it in the MVP event MLG have going. Some zerg did it against 3-4 warp prisms in one game! So fun and nice to see.

Okay, that last part was a little sarcastic, yes. You make a good point about the army still being standing, but I think at that point by eliminating tech/production, your goal from there is to just pull apart the rest. Like... string cheese or something.
I'm not saying it's easy, but it's definitely a great starting point.
