Just want to confirm. Pretty standard for me, at least can't call the 2nd game loss is due to playing badly. Attacking into storms, not building ghosts until after being stormed, having a hard time dealing with WP harras. Picking probably one of the worsts builds possible for game 2? Not that hard to see where he fucked up.
Attacking into storms is inevitable if you ever want to attack. Collossus out range emp and protoss pro's have stopped having templars in the same control group as the rest of the army. But you are right in a way, Byun should know that he simply cant attack and should just go d0000m drop of dOOm and base race.

Of course yes! I'd love this map on the ladder.

Watching on in consused fashion as he is also watching a drop kill his entire main mineral line.

Yes, but it still a misstake to attack into storms. Thats TvP in a nutshell.

He did not have 'bad drop defence', he had to split his army 3-ways repeatedly; the way he handled the hellions was great, the other time he had spent warp-ins to deal with one drop when the second drop came in; plus he had to make sure he has enough stalkers to cover his colo at the front. Could he have played it better? Of course. But it wasn't 'bad'.
The way he covered the map with observers, and continued remaking them whenever Byun killed them with scans was very good, more Protosses need to do it. His small pokes with Zealots and eventual storm pokes / drops were very nice to see as well. On the other hand, saying 'well Byun just played bad' is really short-sighted too - the reason these drops and pokes could do damage is because unlike most Protosses we see, Sun doesn't just load up a warp prism for a drop while sitting in his base - the harassement comes while there are other things going on on the map, posturing, expanding, attacking. That's what makes it impressive, as the mistakes made by Byun aren't him just being 'bad' or not paying attention, they are forced by his opponent.
No reason to go on claiming Sun is the best player in the world over these series, but likewise no reason to call him mediocre and unimpressive, because he played very well.
Thank you so much for writing what i was thinking, but was too lazy to type. If you looked at that game, Rain has exceptionally good defense with the ht spread and viking snipes.

Also.
To be fair, Byun was in a really rough spot seeing that he clearly played the last set with a collapsed lung.

And losing the templar archives. I didn't think it was above GSL average. Which I guess is still pretty damn good.

Creator and Parting isn't "everyone", there is literally half a dozen of other P players at best who can play PvT as well as those two do. Also, both of these have holes in their play as well, and make mistakes - just like Sun does.
