Rain played really well and I'm happy that a kespa player is moving on. Thought Byun would be a player to advance out of this group.

Well to be honest the terran rain I haven't heard of in ages, also the protoss rain we can instead call by the name he used in bw, which is by.sun!

Now we just need him to join Millenium so he can be known as [M] By.Sun. Yeah, I went there. ^.^

You sir, deserve a cookie. I don't think anyone realizes what you've done.

Because KeSPA fanboys has given a lot of hate to the GOM players?

ESF fanboys doesn't do the same for KeSPA players? Please, such hypocrisy.

Not even close in the same scale. I don't care if they are ESF or KeSPA players, I just want to see good SC2. But since I've read a lot of LR I can confidently say that ESF players get a lot more hate than the other way around.

I just answered the question "why all the hate?". That is the reason. Personally I don't care since my two favourite players are Leenock and ZerO.

Says you. Statistics, otherwise invalidated. As of 1st half 2012 would do, if you wish to take up the challenge of proving your statement.

Personally I see it the other way around.

"The elephant in the room" article is hating on the GOM players because they were seen as inferior players. That the KeSPA players were way better and could completely dominate the ESF players anytime they wanted.

I could probably just count the amount of elephant pictures in a LR thread from WCS which is the way of saying "We're the superior players."

Yeah the KeSPA players also got hate from the ESF fans, but not close to the other way around. As I said, I am quite objective and have watched every GSL match / WCS Korea match and actively read the LR thread.

Posting pictures of Elephant's indicates hate towards ESF players? Don't be so ignorant. It's being posted because In just a few month's Kespa players can keep up with Gom. And The Elephant article was partly true. You sound like a angry soul =o

lol, The Elephant article was partly true? First of all, it was written over a year ago so we won't know if what would have happened if the switch was made then. But the main point of the article was that ALL A-teamers would destroy the ESF players within months. Which is certainly not the case. Saying that the article was partly true would be saying a statement like "It rains EVERY day" is partly true because it does rain sometimes. The fact that the tone of the article was so absolute makes it not possible to claim it is 'partly' true.

Within months of full switch. Which have not happened yet for all teams. It will come.
The elephant talk has nothing to with hate on ESF imo. We all cheer for ESF players as well and respect them also. The case here is, knowledge of the scene. The people that hype the Elephant are people that have followed the BW scene for a long time, and know the difference of skill between A & B teamers I would argue. We have such a great respect for A-team players and S-class players like Bisu, Jaedong & Flash. Time will tell, but eventually imo most of both OSL and GSL code S (if they are allowed to play) will consist of mostly kespa players, and the ESF that remains are young talented players. If 6 months go, and I'm nothing has changed, I will apologize. But soo far, in the foreign scene, the BW --> sc2 player switches has been almost equvalent skillwise for those who have made a serious effort.

Have you watched PL lately? I think Kespa pros have pretty much 'fully' switched in terms of practice. I don't blame them since you can winPL by just winning SC2. If you can claim that they haven't fully switch, then ESF players are also playing LoL so they are 'full time' sc2 players either. The problem with the article is that it assumed that BW skill would translate directly to SC2, which we can see is not true up to this point. And I am not even talking about ESF players. The article talked about TBLS domination. But as we can see, it hasn't played out this way. Bisu and Rain are protosses from the same team so I would assume their practice is similar. Yet Rain is doing much better. Again, I am sure Bisu will improve (which is already showing) but we cannot be certain that because you are better than someone in BW, you will automatically be better than them in SC2.

Taking it one step further, I would argue that even an expansion like HOTS might cause some players to perform better and some to perform worse. For example, TvP might follow BW and become where the meta will be mech play. Heavy bio players might be at a disadvantage, and if they cannot adapt, they will fall behind the meta and get phased out.

Their RTS skills does go from BW --> SC2 yes. They still have to put effort and practice into it to get good. As I said, the foreing scene has proven that the best BW foregin players became top sc2 foregin players. very few of the top ones that put effort into it failed. Examples: Idra, Dimaga, White-ra, Sen, Sheth, Ret, Mana, Morrow, Fenix, Haypro, Major, Goody, Strelok, Nony, Lowley, Brat.OK. Also the best koreans who has been most consistent were also the probably the best BW players that switched: MC / MvP / Fruitdealer. They were all poor preforming A-teamers as the article states. How can you say their skill does not transfer? Of course it will, in a very large portion. Just look at Korea as an BW nation, skill hasnt transfered? comon... What is the difference in A and B teamers then? Multitasking (30 Mvps incoming), reaction time, decision making are some, that is just so supperior in players like Flash & Jaedong once they get some depth into the game. You cannot say this does not transfer, those are the things that matter the most I would say in a RTS game also in SC2. Build orders and counters, anyone can learn. And during the years of watching korean BW, their ability to do these things on a top level, has far surpassed anything we've seen in sc2 so far (and sc2 being an easier game mechanics wise) What Rain has showed the past weeks is incredible. You might be right that the PL has become more and more only SC2, still I doubt they have changed like key settings for full sc2 benefit, since they stil have to play both. Give Kespa players couple more months and they will prove every doubter wrong.

I think I needed to put my emphasis on the word 'directly'. Of course, RTS skills like reaction time, multitasking, etc will transfer. And Kespa players will certain be good in sc2. What I am trying to say is that since there are some fundamentals differences between the 2 games, you cannot say player A is better than player B in BW, so player A will be better than player B in SC2. For example, Stephano was a WC3 semi-pro and he is much better than Grubby/Moon in SC2. Of course, that has to do with age as well. Maybe someone like Rain, Roro, Flying, Baby etc will become that top SC2 players instead of TBLS. All I am saying is that the article was just too simplistic in its views.

Was some amazing games.

It was odd to me in the end game toss v terran - both toss players opted to not use DT's to harrass with drops on expo's etc... which was odd to me. They were throwing endless units at eachother with LOTS of archons and terran was relying heavily on MULES. Why not drop DTS and force scans etc... to cut down on mules and harrass? Just a thought.

Anyone know if Flash will be in GSL soon? I am LOVING watching the Kespa players.
