Violet is such a true hero, coming to the US and truly embracing it. I consider him an honorary foreignor, and his rise to tournament dominance lately is so inspiring to watch.
Go violet!
Just wondering, would you guys be more excited for a MVP-Violet, or an MVP-Nerchio match?

yea sc2 is dyin
actually this is the most amount of viewers IEM events have generated to date for sc2. Yesterday MVP match attracted 50k, which is almost 2x as much as their usual viewership on the dozens of IEM hosted.
Its just that sc2 has a buttload of tourneys that people are spread too thin. Its not until big events like MLG, GSL and dreamhack, and IPL live when people starts gathering to watch. Even then, there are still many of those events.
IEM has had shitty numbers for as long as I can remember, hsc5 peaked at 70k and the DH where thorzain won got like 75k
IEM has always been the awkward member of the premier tournament family, not as prestigious as the GSL, not as stacked as MLG, not as entertaining as dreamhack or HSC and not as wealthy as IPL just kind of sits in a strange limbo between premier and major.
However, Iem had a much worse structure and concept until this season. Look at how much love this event got anit's only the first for 12/13.
Vortix is in a lose-lose situation here. If he gets taken down by MVP, he's out of the tournament. But if he wins against MVP, he knocks out a fan favorite and ensures ZvZ finals. Poor guy.

More looking forward to Mvp vs VortiX than the possibility of him taking on either of the other two.
