Imagine yourself playing a game against a guy who literally was a fucking machine for several years. His mechanics thinking and general mentality is miles better than yours and you are damn well aware of that. In fact his victories over several years, that inspired thousands of players and spawned so many fans, cannot be compared to your puny achievements. The only thing you have to offer is that you are better at this particular game and your know that not for long. They are kids after all, nothing to be ashamed of.

Poor Jaedong. o.o

Btw, anyone who thinks that this week heralds the domination of the elephants, there is no solid reason for why KeSPA players can lose horribly for weeks on end and suddenly turn it around like this. Maybe that would be the case for one or two players, but it makes no sense that suddenly all of them start winning because they have increased in skill. In that case we would see a different pattern, where in the timespan of a few months more and more players would start losing to KeSPA players, not just like this where within a week there is complete domination.
More than likely it's a few bad results that lead to insane pressure on GOM players, who then proceed to play horribly. Because Effort played so horribly against Hero just last week, don't tell me he's code S quality now.

I think its nerves on the gom side, coupled with the fact that the kespa players can study and rpepare whereas the gom players can study and prepare for nothing.

How they went from losing and showing terrible strats in the proleague and in the first round of WCS to 9-0 in the LB... I don't know lol

Its a crazy crazy turn around that can only be described by very good match preparation something they are better at than most pro sc2 teams.

BW A teamers have the fastest hands on this planet. It's no big surprise tbh. I really doubt they already have the in-team logistics to prepare for their opponents like they can in BW.

So when drg comes out with 250 eapm and 500+ apm he loses because his hands aren't fast enough?

Some B-teamers are just as fast, they're just not as good at translating their speed. The A-teamers are fast and smarter and wiser with that speed.

I've only ever seen a replay with jaedong having around 250eapm, which is completely irrelevant to why I brought it up. Someone bandwagoning that players from kespa win because their hands are faster is just not true - there is far more to the game then how fast you can click.

You actually believe that until you sit right behind one of these champions or watch their fpvods. The perfection of the execution is where the "real" speed lies.

it's really hard to explain, seeing it live makes you understand it right away why they are so superior and how this is 80% of a physical superiority.

edit : not to mention that all the last BW pro gaming Kings were viewed as pure machines, since the strategies most of the times, were not designed by the competitor himself, but by the whole coaching staff / team. I think the last non-machine champion was savior.

I think that it will all even out in a little while. We might be seeing nerves, we might be seeing planning.

I've never once said that I think bw players dont have better mechanics. I just disagree that they're overwhelming their opponents with them (outside of drg vs effort). Watching coca do the most retarded build ever, and then happy go for a battlecruiser rush, and leenock 10pool 3 games in a row, and yugioh play retardedly in general doesn't make me believe they're winning from mechanics.

Btw stork is not exactly known for having ridiculously fast hands.

Lose horribly for weeks? I thought they've had very limited opportunities to compete against GSL players this past month or so and in PL games a Kespa player always wins (;p)! I thought OSL and WCS were being billed in some quarters as exciting because they were the first real test in SC2 for these players?

Want to take a wager on the odds that every GOM player the last couple days, to a man professionals who've doubtless experienced high pressure situations in their careers before, all suddenly got choked up because they were playing people who according to one of their opponents own members "the skill difference between us and GSL players is so great that if they lose, they should be ashamed of themselves."? I suppose its possible, anyone would be intimidated against a competitor like Jaedong (although from several GOM interviews I couldn't be blamed for thinking otherwise), but how likely is it? Face it- they've made real improvements and despite some questionable decisions from GOM players in some of the games it definitely shows.
there's a bug in the new patch where the other player keeps killing all my dudes.. please nerf this

Someone bandwagoning that players from kespa win because their hands are faster is just not true - there is far more to the game then how fast you can click.

edit : not to mention that all the last BW pro gaming Kings were viewed as pure machines, since the strategies most of the times, were not designed by the competitor himself, but by the whole coaching staff / team. I think the last non-machine champion was savior.

That's not true though. Flash for instance has come up with so many inventions on his own, and dominated the scene harder than anyone before him despite not being the most proficient player mechanically.

You actually believe that until you sit right behind one of these champions or watch their fpvods. The perfection of the execution is where the "real" speed lies.

it's really hard to explain, seeing it live makes you understand it right away why they are so superior and how this is 80% of a physical superiority.

Lol stork isn't slow, he just kept complaining his whole life bisu was faster than he is and that he couldn't keep up in pvp against him.

I wouldn't make an exemple out of flash who already was OSL winning material within his 14th year.

Of course people like flash and stork aren't "slow", but relative to the competition they're not super human, which is why I'm arguing that for the most part they aren't winning these games because of mechanics.

Uhhh Flash?

Flash is a machine, his nickname is the ultimate weapon after all.

Flash is most definitely not a machine. During the period when his CTS was at its worst he kept raping people with pure strategical stuff.

Again I doubt flash is the best player to draw overall conclusion from.

You mean vs zero? That game was fantastic to me because it displayed both strategy and mechanics, but in the end I'm referencing players from broodwar who didn't just win because they could click faster then the opposition in order to support my argument that effort 10 pooling gumiho wasn't a victory of fast hands.

I personnally think however, that there is room in sc2 to actually bring the mechanical thing to even higher heights than in BW.
