Stephano is absolutely scared of ZvZ, but he still does well in tournaments.

Fair?
Depends, is the tournament half-fair or half-unfair?

Its not? Showing builds, spending energy, not getting to watch your opponents games/builds/playstyles etc.

Hm, so if I understand correctly, the two foreigners who get seeded into pool play are Stephano and Goody? I think Goody came in 15th/16th.

I cant wait till the final, if only since the extended series debate will finally stop here again and we can actually focus on the games again!

What good points does it have in an elimination tournament style like this? I see there are a tiny few merits in pool play tournaments, to avoid game throwing.

Past games played is not typically considered advantageous (only future games would be considered an advantage), although from a realistic perspective the player will be less tired.

(alicia vs stephano, too, but he was expected to lose that one anyway. just not _that_ horribly as he did, it was probably even worse than nestea vs inca)

If he had not dropped a game to Oz earlier, he would have a 2-0 advantage, which means he only has to win 2 games across the entire series and his opponent has to win 4.
Compare to Taeja, who could lose the first series 2-1, and then has to win 2 games in the next Bo3 to advance, for 3 total.
Best advantage goes to person with extended series.

What are you talking about? Of course playing less games is an advantage. Not as fatigued/less chance of being eliminated.

Honestly, alicia is really good all 3 matchups, better than like almost all foreigner protoss. The thing is though, all of his won games vs good people recently have been either PvP or coinflips. His style is also really... plain? so he's not as fun to watch
