Problem with Protoss is that it's units are so expensive and strong that every PvX matchup ends in one engagement most of the time. PvP is a lot better, since it usually ends early and has constant aggression. PvZ might as well be played on Novice maps.

I kinda liked the game, but this is not how a long macro game is played, or at least not what I'm thinking when the term "long macro game" comes to my head. Turtling for >30 minutes and ending the game in a single battle isn't the idea. Long macro games are those which reach that stage after tons of skirmishes and battles throughout the early and mid game, with engagements all over the map, harass maneuvers and strategic moves going on all the time, to finally end after a long fought engagement in the end. Watch Bisu vs Last for very recent reference. If you want to watch true epicness, watch Jaedong vs Flash from a few years back on WCG, the very definition of a "long macro game"

PvZ is like 20 minutes macro, 5 minutes positioning and then vortex.

And doesn't matter that the semis were Bo7, a Bo5 for 3rd place would really have been enough. Besides that, this event is really good. Delays always happen.

The Broodlord/Infestor ball is way more cost-efficient than anything Protoss can put out.

Sometimes Zerg wins when Protoss doesn't manage to vortex them out, sometimes Zerg loses when Protoss hits vortex, but it is ridiculous in a game where players play at ~200 APM for only two of those actions (select mothership, cast vortex) to decide the game. Design fail. Blizzard ought to remove the mothership from the game and then give Protoss whatever tools they need to fight brood lord/infestor in a straight-up fight. exactly - lets just make all units exactly the same for all races so they could figh straight up and all the matchups would look exactly the same. I share your point here and very much enjoy the lack of diversity in games..

I don't play anything like the standard and zergs don't know wtf to do. It's players fault, not the matchup. If they have 200+ apm they can have multiple battles going on at the same time, they just chose not to.
