These brackets are bullshit. The bracket was decided in advance, winner of group x, plays runner up of group y, and so on. Stop with your bullshit conspiracy theories, people. Why is it A vs. B and E vs. F but not C vs. D and G vs. H?
Because they were drawn (likely out of a hat).
If the bracket was known people would avoid getting first place if it meant meeting a good second place (and vice versa).

It guarantees a foreigner will be in the final. Which means a higher number of people will be tuning in! Win/Win for e-sports.
Pushing lesser players towards are final because they are swedish is not a win for esports.
I dont believe this much of a coincidence.

Oh noes my favorite player lost, better blame the tournament format! God people can be so...

It is Randomly drawn, to prevent players throwing their games to get 1. / 2. in their groups. (To avoid certain players etc.) It prevents that what Stephano and Bratok did back in Assembly Summer 2011.

100% agreed. Stephano has shown really bad ZvZ results while Nerchio has become quite the specialist in the matchup..

Stephano has got the worst bracket possible. He has to pass though Keen then Nerchio. At this stage i don't give hime 10% succes rate. Then if a miracle happens he will probably face Hero, the only protoss with MC he's not favoured. I don't expect him to go far and i wouldn't be surprised if he looses vs Keen who is a beast.

LOL all top players in the upper bracket...
I just hope sLivko can beat naniwa so he doesnt have an easy run....
Nontheless, this is what i THINK will happen
Stephano > Keen Nerchio > BratOK HerO > TaeJa MaNa > Catoplasm NaNiWa > sLivko Dimaga > Protosser SaSe > Ret Fraer > Harstem
Stephano < Nerchio HerO > MaNa NaNiWa > Dimaga SaSe > Fraer
Nerchio < HerO NaNiWa > SaSe
HerO > NaNiWa
----------
What i hope will happen
Stephano > Keen Nerchio > BratOK HerO > TaeJa MaNa > Cytoplasm NaNiwa < sLivko DIMAGA > protosser SaSe < Ret Fraer > Harstem
Stephano > Nerchio HerO < MaNa sLivko < Dimaga Ret > Fraer
Stephano > MaNa Dimaga < Ret
Stephano > Dimaga

What part of a random draw is so hard for people to understand?
If they were going to rig it they'd do so in a way that would have given Stephano and Naniwa a far easier path through to the finals, because that would give them the most viewers.

My predictions for tomorrow. Those that finished first in their groups should win their next round being the better players, though there might be a couple of upsets.
Stephano Nerchio Hero Mana Naniwa Dimaga Sase Fraer
Next: Stephano - Hero, Naniwa - Fraer. Stephano - Fraer Stephano
Edit: I must admit, I do look here like a fanboy, but whatever. >:D

its funny that they draw this randomly, why wouldn't they just make A vs B, C vs D, etc...
I highly doubt it, but whatever.

A TvZ specialist followed by a ZvZ specialist in Nerchio, only way it could of been worse was HerO instead of Keen.. TBH stephano isn't really looking that strong in this field almost no matter the bracket. Hero, slivko, nerchio are likely all favored vs stephano, and maybe also keen and taeja. Dimaga and ret would also have a good chance against him.
No matter how you stack it he is likely to run into though opponents.

I'd take Stephano over Nerchio to be honest. Nerchio's ZvZ has been shaky too. If Stephano can take out the Koreans it's his tournament to lose. Hoping for an epic Stephano vs. Naniwa final!

Nerchio to take the tournament. Poland will at least win something this month if it isnt football

I don't think any Terrans will make it to the quarterfinals tomorrow. Hero's on a roll and he might drop a game to Taeja but it doesn't look like he'll lose the series.
|
dreamhack rigging them brackets so white guy can get to the finals!
|
naniwa stephano final would be so epic, hoping for that

Should they sort the bracket based on nationality or what? You guys are ridiculus sometimes, if Keen/Taeja getting stomped by Nani/Sase, they are getting a hard bracket. It is not that hard to understand, isn´t it?
