How is this an argument at all? GSL group stage format is always 5 matches, where as the other one is 5-6

If they didn't want to be on the "stacked" side of the bracket, they should have won their group.
nerchio hero stephano = 3

I'm just amazed and glad to see three terrans making it through. Though I can't see any of them go in to the round of 8. And omg I'm gonna pray for Silivko and Ret tmrw to not let naniwa and sase through :D

It's a random draw, which actually is the fairest way to do it.

These brackets are bullshit.
The bracket was decided in advance, winner of group x, plays runner up of group y, and so on.
Stop with your bullshit conspiracy theories, people.

You go 8-1 in your matches, only losing to Stephano, and you get eliminated. Dumb. Close group, that's how it works, unfortunately. MLG's heads up system is a lot worse, imho. Yep, losing to Stephano -> out of tournament is much better than MLG's system. Obviously we can't do a bo100, but this is silly. How is that silly? Would you prefer slivko going out after winning against Stephano and barely losing against HuK? I'm saying this isn't enough to get an accurate enough measurement of "worthiness" or "skill" to advance to ro16. The difference between 2-1 and 2-0 is so negligible except in a situation like this where it's your tournament life on the line. SC2 gameplay is too high in variance for this to be acceptable. What is wrong with fanboys these days? Jesus. Wtf else do you want? "Sc2 gameplay is too high variance" rofl, so DH has to solve this alleged problem how? Make everyone play a best of 99 to make sure the "variance" is minimized? Make them play a playoff at 1am in the morning, changing the rules everyone else lived with, cause you think its unfair your favorite is out? It's a weekend tournament, everyone plays by the same rules, just cause your favorite losses suddenly you whiners call it not fair.
I said a boXXX would be perfect for measurement and not perfect for time constraints, but this opposite end in terms of extremes doesn't make it good.
A middle ground should be preferred (like, you know, most the time).

Only alternative is the gsl one in which basicly every group is a little double elimination bracket with winner of both winner and loser brackets advancing. But it is not fairer in any way. Suck it up.
Actually the GSL system is way better because it completly removes these kinds of situations. In the GSL groups it's always 100% clear who is going to advance and who is out. As a player you're also never reliant on another competitor, where as in these kind of groups that can happen. For instance, in this case sLivko got to play his last match vs an opponent who was already out, instead of facing Stephano who was also playing for a place in the top 16.

Why is it A vs. B and E vs. F but not C vs. D and G vs. H?

I believe they picked the groups at random.
