ALT-Starcraft is pleased to announce our first major showmatch:
EGiNcontroL -vs- AltSonic
Wednesday, May 9, 6:00 pm EST
$100 to winner, $50 to loser

This showmatch between EG's Geoff "iNcontroL" Robinson (P) and ALT-Starcraft's Wen "Sonic" Jin (T) was set up in order accomplish a few things. Most importantly it is a thank you to the all the hardworking members of the eSports community; viewers, players, interviewers, researchers, and casters alike.
Secondly, this showmatch is also a thank you to Sonic for his hard work and win in the WCS USA Qualifier. Is Sonic strong enough to go toe to toe with iNcontroL? We shall find out!
Third, the showmatch is also a thank you to the fans of ALT (whether you stuck with us from the beginning or just found out about us recently) and the entire eSports community. Without your generousity and dedication, we would never be able to do this.

Here's a little info on Sonic. His name is Wen Jin, he is 16, and is from Seattle. That being the same hometown as Mr. iNcontroL These two are both phenominal players and I'm excited to see the action. ^^ Hope you tune in for some sick action, info, and even a chance to win a team tee. Yep! Not sure why anyone would look at this and try to find a way to spin it negatively. They approached me and from the very beginning discussed this as a cool way to get exposure for this young player.. why would I turn down a competitive match for money with such good intentions?

This is going to be awesome. Both of these guys will do everything in their power not to lose. Incontrol will fight to keep from completing his fall from grace, and Sonic will fight to earn a name for himself by defeating a renowned figure in the community.

So uh... who is Sonic? He's not even on their roster on their website, I can't find an AltSonic on SC2Ranks, and his twitter is empty. Kind of helps defeat the entire purpose of the showmatch (which is to get him more exposure).
So I have no idea who he is except his name.

Anyways, excited to learn more about AltSonic before we see more of him! You should try to get an interview with him, even something small, and put it in the OP so we can maybe learn a couple more things about him.

Its completly impossible for him to win against iNcontroL. iNcontroL might not be the geatest player nowadays, but hes still a decent pro player despite all the hate that is going on somehow.

To be fair to masters people, many of them have MMR and skill to be in GM but just weren't put in it at the right time or didn't play the games. Lots of them play mostly GM players anyways.

iNcontroL seemed to have simply infrastructure when it hit the late game even though he was outclassed in nearly every engagement.
Also, after the first major engagement AltSonic had 2k mins banked... feel like if that had translated into army he would have steamrolled!

People underestimate how good Incontrol is. Just because you lose consistently (sadly enough, lately) to the top 50 players in the world, at MLG's and in other forums like Team Leagues etc, doesn't mean that you aren't EASILY one of the best 100 or 150 in the world, which is still VERY exclusive company.
People see him go, say, 0-5 in some group at some event, and just assume he's like Diamond or something. That is utterly ridiculous. Incontrol would stomp 99% of SC players, without much trouble at all.
