YES!!! NASL!! YES!!! Giving out all of the VODs for Free! That was really my only complaint with past NASLs, and they've fixed it. I'm so happy! Thanks so much!

There were 2 qualifiers months ago and they were well documented.
It takes time for a major tournament to "get it". MLG struggled through disasters like Dallas. I think NASL has adapted well to all the problems they've had in the past, and this new season is shaping up to be really really good.
NASL, what is the process for player admission? Is it still by the video interviews they send in? If so, is there any way for us to watch them? (Probably not, I know.)
ahhh was expecting a lot more koreans, this pool is about as competitive as playhem. best of luck to the players tho, thanks NASL for hosting everything.

There have been qualifiers for both of season two and three. It got a little murky because of all the Koreans dropping out in season two, which is why there are some questionable players still.
Edit: Actually, it's curious that Axslav is in. He should've been eliminated due to his results last season. And assuming Kiwi is going to be in, that also means White Ra turned down his invitation as he would've come before Axslav.
I bought a ticket for Season 2 but didn't really follow it all that much (not like Season 1 where I never missed a match). I'll be buying a ticket again and will be paying more attention, although I'm sad there are no Startale players there.
That being said, holy shit, some of those divisions look awesome. I can't pick a group of death, they can all defeat me in a gun fight even if they brought a spork.
I bought and watched season 1, bought and watched season 2. Always tried to support you guys.
But I was majorly dissapointed that I missed the season 2 live finals since they were on a European monday morning. I'm not a restream guy, I like to watch events live, following live threads, knowing 1000s of others watch too etc.
I still don't know if they will change that but since this question was asked in threads a few times and ignored, I have to assume it will be USA sunday evening again and in that case I have to skip unfortunately.
Even if I <3 Bitterdam, I don't want such an anticlimax again.
They did qualifiers for Season 3. IIRC it was competitive and top Koreans got the spots. But NASL's format retains a lot of their previous season's players, and Season 2 was the boycott.
I think there are quite a few good matches to be had this season. Not every game is going to be a razon thin contest between top tier players, but there's a lot of back story behind each of these players, and its a good opportunity for people looking to support the foreigner's scene to tune in and do just that.
Of the three best foreigners missing, Naniwa doesn't like NASL; I don't see him coming.
Stephano - well, there's goods and bads with inviting him seeing his forfeits in online tournaments and NASL's problems with forfeits the previous seasons. But he is popular, and having him raises the competition, thus I do hope that NASL approached him though I won't blame them for not taking the risk.
HuK, I don't know. The sole obstacle is that he's cross-servers, and for other players that's not an obstacle at all. But with HuK, he hates playing cross-servers down to a fault. Don't know what he thinks, but I imagine negotiations have been made, and there's 2-3 Protoss spots left.
I hope the seeds for Season 4 are left only to the players who made the playoffs. There needs to be a better turnover rate in order to keep the player pool fresh.

There are still unannounced people. Huk and Stephano will definitely be in the last row of players. I imagine Naniwa has expressed interest since he's in their poll for who the last protoss should be and he's currently ahead of MC by ~100 votes so he might very well be in the next season

Something like this would be best. Maybe having only 16 players remain is too few, but there definitely needs to be a better turnover. Players should at least have to win half their games to stay in the league. There were a ton of players below .500 to qualify for this season.

If you read the article it says:
On the 22nd of April, the Anthill will come alive with StarCraft as the players, casters, and cameras invade the venue to broadcast the Sunday ShowDown live from the pub. Open to the general public but limited on space, interested attendees are advised to arrive by 4pm PST to watch the Division 5 matches BarCraft-style in the company of the NASL casters and crew.
Pretty sick if you ask me! $2,000 showmatch with players flown out EVERY WEEK!
I think it has the potential to be super awesome if done well, especially with the players being on-site AND having a live audience!
I have a feeling that Stephano's gonna 8-0 his group, considering that the games are played during a longer period of time. This way, there's no tiredness, he should be unbreakable by these guys (maybe Zenio can pull something)

Doubt it, stephano easily beat him on his qualifying way to nasl3
Let's remember that Stephano has a habit of not showing up sometimes. Even though there's money on the line, I wouldn't be surprised to see him miss at least one match.

You can't be serious. You know that last season only the top 2 of each group went straight to the finals, right?
well its alive who will give IdrA a lot of trouble and Tzain/Alicia who IdrA can beat and who he can lose to; Ret is another potential problem but its ZvZ which feels like coinflipping but not as predictable

Yeah, I kinda agree with that. Stephano really got a easy group. (I think division 1 is the easiest one). He is probably going to be like 7-1 or 8-0. Puma could be a tough opponent but Stephano easily took him out 3-0 at LAN Assembly.

I think Millenium manager paid a caution of about 500$ to NASL, so that Stephano shows up. I think I read that on his stream.
Looks good with some of the revamped format. Group 5 seems to be the group of death--MC, White-Ra, Polt, Puzzle, Sheth, and MorroW. Will see how production for Season 3 turns out.

I've never been a supporter/fan of nasl before due to their structured system and the way they content works but this new format as well as vod access is slowly changing my mind. Also, the casters are much better this time around. +1

Yeah its pretty sweet that HD VODs are free and available on youtube.

I dont really see any semi pros... maybe 1 our 2 if u can even call them that
I feel like the NASL System is a bit too 'forgiving', especially if there is so much time between the seasons. There are some truly great players in there, who had good results in the near past, but also some players who basically did not show any promising results in the last months and will probably disappoint (if they prove me wrong I'd be happy though).
does anyone have the link or info regarding the exact format regarding who advances/playoff/wildcard system? They keep mentioning that the format was revamped but I don't see the exact details
5 divisions, #1and #2 of each qualify directly, #3 to #6 battle in 5 playoffs brackets to reach 15 players total. Last spot in the finals for the winner of the open.
#1 to #6 are qualified for the next season regardless of playoff results.

Pretty sure the finals will follow the same rules, they sold separate Finals passes last season iirc.
