Please have some respect for the players, teams, and tournament. Criticism is fine, criticism without anything to back it up isn't so cool. Thanks! |

I would say Socke and CrazyMoving are lower tier opponents. Hell, even DRG said he was the best player he played in his group. Oh fuck it I don't care if I'm biased, UK FIGHTING!
(holy crap there's no US players left!)
Funny, how you call Socke "lower tier", when he has overall better tournament results than Demuslim.

Specially when koreans are on field.
Agreed. I feel like his strategies are really good and he puts a lot of thought into his play but his raw macro, speed and multi task is well short.

But his career as a player is not going anywhere if he is not willing to make the necessary sacrifices just like all the Korean players and top foreigners (Naniwa, Huk) and fans can only really watch their idols under-performing and fall so many times before they decided to stop caring about them, and then Grubby will (most likely) loses his sponsors. I think with his game knowledge he should transition into being a caster/commentator it really suits him better and it allows him to take care of his wife & family. You are so wrong, he has a fan base and fans don't simply stop caring for him or follow him if he does bad. Great example of that is Boxer. Grubby is still one of the best protoss foreigner, if you think he should stop because he had one bad tournament then you should really think about what you are saying. If the cut off line in skill is Grubby for people to quit playing then you just cut off 90% of foreigners. Let's have Naniwa, Stephano, and HuK be the only foreigners playing this game (sarcasm). I agree that he shouldnt quit but I think you're laying on the praise a little too thick. There are more than 3 players that are better than Grubby.

You cant call this tournament even bad for Grubby, he prolly learned a lot from it. He never faced so many good players in 2 days before.
You dont need top results to have a massive fanbase, if you treat you fanbase the correct way they will stick by you. And Grubby does that, he got like 700 dollars last month in donations alone besides his subscribers. Thats pretty sick.

He deserved to get banned from progaming for being so lucky. /sarcasm off The Huk hate is astounding really, even Deezer doesn't get this much hate. Really, since when does pointing out that he gets incredibly lucky with brackets (Which he does!) equal hate? I haven't been the biggest HuK fan lately, but I certainly don't hate him either. You can't really deny he has earned the nickname LuK the last 2-3 foreign tournaments I've seen him at he has had by far the easiest group/bracket.
It does when people completely brush off his achievements, like getting 3rd at MLG Arena. It's actually quite disrespectful. I'm not really a Huk fan either, but here you have a guy who is playing professional SC2 full time and whenever he has a good run, people just call it luck.
Obviously he doesn't have as hard of a group as a guy like Grubby did, but that doesn't mean he still has been winning most of his games. Imagine yourself in his position, how would you react if not one person, but a significant portion of the community dismisses your accomplishments because they think you got lucky?
I agree that he's gotten relatively easy brackets at Arena and this tournament, but they have not been exactly cakewalks either.

Karmic balance.
Like half of Code S gets personally defeated by the Code S champion or runner-up. So it's not fair to characterize it as bad luck.

Thank god Puma's out, saves me a lot of annoying slobbering drool from fanboys when I go barcrafting tommorow.

Why are people hating on Grubby all of a sudden? Just look at his group, that would've been a hard group for almost any foreigner.
He just got top4 at the Lone Star Clash beating Violet etc. and one week later it's all forgotten.

I was hoping for IdrA and NonY to go farther in this tournament as well. That second game against Polt was just terrible luck for IdrA. That was probably the worst time for Polt to pause for him. If Polt's lag was that terrible I can see why he would pause, just that was an awkward place for both players in terms of when to pause.
IdrA not having his spine crawler up in time to defend against probably the single most common current TvZ opening wasn't terrible luck, the pause didn't have anything to do with that.

That series was the antithesis of epic.
