Please have some respect for the players, teams, and tournament. Criticism is fine, criticism without anything to back it up isn't so cool. Thanks! |
With how passive select was for the majority of the game i'd be suprised if grubby loses.

Wow, Polt tore Ostojiy apart, first game.

Poor choice to engage from SeleCT after killing the third, he should have resigned to drop harassing Grubby's other expansions while getting remaxed.
Not that it matters, I don't see how he can lose going forward, but that was a bit of a poor decision ^^

I just hope H4 is like the originals, not Reach. What changed in Halo: Reach? I don't know anything about it, but I find it hard to believe a console FPS game can change all that much. Bloom, equipment, no BR, etc. Not to mention the maps Bungie made were pretty bad. It just wasnt fun at all. It was boring, especially the maps. What's Bloom? In FPS games you have the target built in, well with bloom there is a circle that expands when you move or shoot, meaning your accuracy goes down. So if you shoot you have to wait for your circle to get small again to shoot or you'll miss. Works in Shadowrun, but not Halo. That's not bloom, that's a dynamic crosshair... and that's in every FPS game that's good, other than Quake. Bloom is with the graphics, it created a little outer flow around models that softens the outside. Only with Halo it was set up in such a way that if you ignored bloom and just shot as fast as you could you could win against the player who was theoretically shooting right. Not to mention that the randomness made the shooting feel bad, like you should have hit someone and that didn't happen. It reminded me a lot of shooter-RPGs that have dice rolls for accuracy, only you don't want that with Halo. MLG settings now have bloom turned off (one of the things 343 did right), so we'll see. Still haven't returned to it though. old halo 1 map DLC replacing shitty Reach maps help too. Pretty sure that magnetic targetting carried over from H3 IIRC. That was one of the dumbest things they ever put in the game. Completely crippling game-skill. No auto-aim in console FPS = terrible games. You'd have terrible accuracy without it cause it's on a controller. No it isn't. I guess you've never played H1 or H2. It actually took practice and skill to shoot accurate. Getting 4shots consistently used to be a mark of a great player, now any schmoe can do it. (At least in H3) It was a complete and utter joke, especially removing BxR and all the other skill ceiling activities. Halo 1/2 had autoaim. It just wasn't as bad as H3.

Not a bad game by Ostojiy though. Quite entertaining. Another fantastic engagement by Polt gives him a decisive victory.

Dubstep and shuffling is not even close to related also, why only gamers? you must have been spending way too much time under a rock.

Blah blah blah koreans blah blah HuK blah Naniwa blah blah. A little interesting to see some new faces in the upper bracket though but they're just gonna get crushed 2-0 in lopsided matches. MLG should really be an NA tourney imo, does everyone really want to see the same 8 korean players or so who are well funded crushing through a bunch of fodder? Championship sunday is seeming more and more like the only point to these things.
(okay sorry for being a cynic but I've had a bad day) Take a shot or a toke, bro For real bro just chillax majorly harsh buzzkill NA only? So no ret, TLO, Grubby, Thorzain, Hasu, etc. etc. Sounds 1000x worse LOL. No one would pay to watch a NA tournament, no one would sponsor it, no one would care about it. Koreans are going to keep getting invited because people like watching them, they bring viewers and viewers bring money. To say nothing of the fact that any tournament that prevents legitimate competition from entering is something no one would feel crazy about winning. My point is more out of frustration that I feel the NA scene is hampered by a general lack of ability to get anywhere, we're being choped off at the legs. The only way to prove yourself is to be able to beat koreans, and realistically if our ladder is really worse and our players are worse, how are we supposed to improve? I just saw IdrA and Ostojiy fold like an accordion to basic hellion pressure that didn't even look that impressive to me. The koreans have GSL and the GSTL and a proleague coming up IN KOREA. We have a bunch of tourneys that for now, are just going to be flying koreans and a few really good euro players to utterly crush anything we have. We need our own dedicated league and every time we set one it gets filled up with koreans. We don't have pro houses where a group of 12 people are practicing 80+ hours a week strategizing together, and even if we did it'd take a while to catch up. The NA scene needs a shot in the arm by someone willing to give a decent place for NA players to grow without having to face up against the top-tier koreans just yet. We should at least have some sort of "minor league" that is consistent so that we can grow. I know it's not always korean vs foreigners, but they have infastructure and a culture setup that currently, we can't compete with until we grow seperately. You get better by playing with the best, if you play with worse players you will only be good enough to beat worse players.

Halo 2's autoaim > Halo 3's Autoaim > Halo's. Either way, these new MLG settings have actually made Reach watchable.
