he seemed to just give up against polt, no cancel on hatch no transfuses when he could have etc, probably needs to do an EG ad or something and can't be late
I like how you imply he intentionally let that hatch die without a cancel, you do realise at the same time his main was getting dropped?
People are so quick to judge IdrA, because he's IdrA. He lost 0-2 to Polt, it's fucking Polt, this guy is a TOP Code S player and a super tournament winner, but here's something you'll understand: 'Polt beats Stephano more often than Stephano beats him'
Lag probably frustrated IdrA so much that he mis-micro'd and lost all of his queens, IdrA was also super unlucky to see the marines that made a little timing with his ling run-by into natural.
Polt isn't anywhere near a top code S player, don't kid yourself.
Really? anywhere near is a bold statement
He fell out of code A
Him and almost everyone else that's at the top of Code S. Can only count the number of people that haven't fallen out of Code A or S on two hands I believe.
You don't call someone a top code s player when they aren't even in code a, sorry. It was nice of GSL to place him in code s for this season though, let's see if he can stay.

So did MC.
And for god sake, his played against Creator ( you know, the freaking best macro PvT player in Korea beside Genius ) and he was sick at the times.
And MMA fell out of Code A to Puzzle, then came back and won a GSL lol

Polt goes to Seoul University, a top 3 school in Korea. You generally need decent English to get into those schools.
Fuck... Probably less than 10% of people here on TL realizes the significance of getting into Seoul University.
Hat's off to Polt!
I'm more impressed that he can juggle studying there with being a sick nerd baller. Genuinely no clue how he does that, unless they've given him some kind of sabbatical leave from study to play?

This. I feel as zergs, you really got to be flexible and be able to adjust yourself to your opponents game play. Idra doesn't do that. He basically does a build and wants HIS opponent to play how he play, which is not what zerg is.I don't know, I really feel idra screwed up being zerg in sc2. In broodwar, he had this style of turtling in his base till 200/200 and pushing out. Which is like how the current protoss is, he should switch to protoss.
He does adapt and when you see him cast, you actually get to see how much he understands the game. It's his control and his unwillingness to carry out his advantage by making units instead of economy that consistently puts him in bad position.
He understands but he NEVER adapts. give me one example of idra building roaches when a terran goes mass hellion. He never does, AND he drops his spines so late. He tries to aim for the late game but his opponents are always hitting him at the early game cause they know he won't play safe. If you play greedy all the time, you will lose.
I think it's personal preference. He obviously understands the game so he thinks if he can hold without investing money in other tech paths/units, then his economy and subsequent ability to compete in a macro game will benefit.
That's true, but he can never hold. Its depressing as a zerg really, I support all zergs so I can never understand why he doesn't play safer. Greedy is good, but imagine if a new type of idra that doesn't play greedy emerge. It would be such a better change and make his opponents think twice about all inning him.
Same here >_> Still hope Halo does well this MLG though, not really a fan but would be sad to see it die
Yeah.
But it was a pretty sick game I'm not gonna lie. I stopped watching Halo a while ago (Reach is terrible) but well when you're down 49-45 and suddenly you kill the entire team to tie it at 49-49, the crowd goes insane. Hasn't been a game that good since early H3.
Well it was also the biggest team in Halo against a team people have been hyping to win this event putting on 5 close games so at the end the crowd was going to go nuts.
That too, Instinct has a ton of fans. But I think the crowd would've gone nuts regardless of it being Instinct or not.
Haven't watched Halo in a while (yeah Reach does suck) but that sounds insane. Especially been disconnected to it cause I haven't really paid attention since the H3 days. Still a big fan of pistola though (have been since before he broke out with TD in H3). Hope he does well. If Reach dies after this MLG season I hope they'll pick up Halo 4 anyway, from what I've heard from my friends in the scene 343 has done good things with Reach (allowing removal of bloom, etc.) so I think they could do an even better job with it than Bungie.
Yeah I've been pulled away from SC2 for a bit to watch the series so that says something. But if the Halo crowd keeps this up it'll start rivaling the SC2 crowd in intensity and it won't be dropped until 4 comes out.
I just hope H4 is like the originals, not Reach.
What changed in Halo: Reach? I don't know anything about it, but I find it hard to believe a console FPS game can change all that much.
Bloom, equipment, no BR, etc. Not to mention the maps Bungie made were pretty bad.
It just wasnt fun at all. It was boring, especially the maps.
What's Bloom?
In FPS games you have the target built in, well with bloom there is a circle that expands when you move or shoot, meaning your accuracy goes down. So if you shoot you have to wait for your circle to get small again to shoot or you'll miss.

Halo:Reach absolutely blows balls. Hardly takes any skill compared to the former Halos. Halo 1 took so much skill to play at a high level same with Halo 2. Just compare Halo 2 to Reach and its like BW against a worse SC2.

Ostojiy beat Puma. Who knows.
But Polt's TvZ I would put ahead of Puma.
agreed, looking for puma to improve there as well.
yeah, you could say he needs to refine his timings
puma is a player who's built around BOs.
LMAO you couldnt be more wrong. Puma has absolutely INCREDIBLE control
