Please have some respect for the players, teams, and tournament. Criticism is fine, criticism without anything to back it up isn't so cool. Thanks! |

If Scott from It's Gosu had been present at the event, I seriously doubt this would've happened. We have a great relationship with him and generally, management from different teams look out for each other. One thing we in the EG camp are wondering is, why did WBC wait until after the first map had already been forfeited to go and get Puma? Everyone knew that we were scrambling around, searching for him (because we legitimately didn't know where he'd gone), and then WBC went and found him right away. I think it's fair to ask if WBC knew where he was the entire time, or just happened to find him after the first map was forfeited. It's an unpleasant but fair question. From reddit. I really think Alex Garfield is a scumbag. Did he just accuse the person who WENT AND FOUND HIS PLAYER for him, purposely trying to get his player DQ'ed? If WBC wanted Puma to get DQ'ed, he can just not go find him. What a douchebag for accusing someone who HELPED him.
He should realized that WBC didnt have any obligation to find/talk to Puma in first place.
Thats just wrong. I never liked Garfield anyway.

If people would make posts when they see something they like as much as they do about something they don't, these LR threads would be much more enjoyable.

Disappointed to see all this hate against ostojiy. Guy has done absolutely nothing wrong and gets punished for it. As someone said earlier, MLG shouldn't force players to make decisions like this - it should be made for them.

Maybe if you felt less and looked more you'd see that that is not the case.

I'll say again, to MLG...
Never ask the players whether they want to play the game if you're looking to forfeit their opponent, it puts them in a very unfair position where they have to choose between potentially damaging their tournament hopes or their reputation in the eyes of some. It should be the admins decision 100%. If a player is breaking your rules, there is no need to go to their opponent and ask, "Yeah, so he broke a rule, do you want us to DQ him?".
Admins should be responsible here.

I get that you just want to blindly hate on EG, but you make no sense. Puma was probably off hanging out with some of his Korean buddies , if their opponent knew where he was but just sat back so he could get an easier game thats pretty fucking lame.
Except if that person had just said nothing at all then Ostijoy would have gotten a complete walkover and an auto win into pool play. Puma shouldn't just be off "hanging with korean buddies" when he supposed to be playing in a tournament, in an open winners bracket final.

I don't think cheesing players better than you is that sad, but obviously I'm not ecstatic about beating him in that way. Game 2 my mouse was glitching so I was tilted and just went all in. Puma obviously wasn't aware of the match, why would you take advantage of this situation? While you could obviously ask for a walk-over, you'd be surprised how much more appreciation you'd have gotten by just playing a normal BO3. Out of sportsmanship, out of respect for your opponent, for the fans and for the tournament organization. Why should Ostojiy be responsible for Puma knowing when the game is? It's not his fault Puma wasn't aware. While admittedly he would be more popular if he let Puma play a complete Bo3, I don't understand why he wouldn't take every advantage he could get. I know I would definitely rather take a better shot at money than fan support.
Your last statement doesn't make any sense. How is him following the rules set by the tournament in any way disrespecting the tournament? You can be upset that the tournament rules were set up the way that they were, but Ostojiy was just following the rules.

It's ok to be late for a match when the rules say you can't just because it would be nice if the other player waited? Fck I'm never showing up on time again.

That is one good thing you can say about the Protoss vs other races. If you got too much gas or min, you have a way to dumb it in to useful units.

Admins should be responsible here. agreed. admins enforce rules, not players. dont even give the players the choice.

I thought they already did that? Wasn't something similair in the white-ra case where Gimix actually wanted to play against him but was forced to take the walkover win? I remember something like whitera offering to start down 0-1 and offracing?.
I might also be completely wrong since that was so long ago.
