they're not going to refund you because you couldn't watch one game in a best of 7, which was part of hundreds of games in a season.
It's not their fault that you stopped trying to reconnect. Connection problems were fixed after the first game pretty much.

Go figure.. Ugh... people are reading that game wrong. That was actually a REALLY GOOD strategy. Carriers with +air attacks which is what Genius was doing snowballs really quickly and become extremely cost efficient. It was a really good build to mix into a best of 7 and a really good map to do it on cuz you can turtle on three base which is what you need to support carriers. Genius wanted to win. We could all see it in his face. He wasn't trolling. I'd believe you if I saw carriers winning more than 1 out of 50 games. Right, because what we expect from the best players in the world (particularly those named Genius) is to not innovate, and never figure out new ways to use units unexpectedly. And when these best players in the world do happen to find these very surprising strategies, we expect them to use them in on the Ladder or something to make sure they're given away before they really count. Perfect logic. EDIT: erased. Baaaaaah it's never worth it to respond or flame sometimes... apologies

I don't understand why GOM would put Crossfire then Bel'Shir last, I mean 2 base all ins in the middle of the series I can live with but not right at the end...

In the last game why the fuck did you attack into the spine crawlers wall when you had advantage man, just killed the rock and walk in the man or denied as much hatch as possible? sighhhhhhhh, fuck it. Crossfire, what do you expect. The next map after that was Bel'Shir. Those are 2 base all-in maps for Protoss. It's not quite like when Jaedong was handed that win over flash over a DC in (OSL?) finals, but having a deciding match for Protoss on CrossFire is disappointing to say the least. Jaedong had that in the bag, but I kind of like Crossfire, even though a lot of the PvZs are suckish
True, though the definition of Flash is that he comes back from impossible situations. Even so... JD had it in the bag.
...
Genius made a lot of stupid mistakes that series (bungling micro on his proxy 2port, inability to commit to defend or base-trade in multiple games, etc.) but what killed me was watching how desperately he was moving around in that last game, trying to shut down wherever DRG might expand to keep it 2v2 base, knowing he couldn't hold a third of his own.
So many posts about how Genius failed XF because he couldn't keep his army together when they couldn't see how many awesome flanks he *almost* set up, while simultaneously hunting for expansions - making the best out of a shit situation and almost coming through.
DRG played better last night period and probably would have won regardless, don't get me wrong, but you don't want to see someone go out like that.
CrossFire is fucking handicap map.
Good riddance. -_-;

Genius had so many chances to win those games. Indecisiveness lost him those games. I'm also a bit bummed that he went StarGate every game. Great series though. Game 4 was Genius. If the Carriers were hidden a bit longer and he moves out with like 8 of them and he wins that game, you guys couldn't say ANYTHING.

Oh I have. Look back a couple pages or check my post list.

they turned the gomtogon into their fucking playground. that's kind of my point, it feels like the whole thing is a joke. So you want them to not enjoy one of the biggest moments in their collective careers to date? Sure, but not by humiliating his friend on the biggest stage.
Do you not think Genius wouldn't hae done the same thing?

I am kinda sad the final ended like that. To be honest, I am pretty sure that on any other map Genius would have won that game. Farewell shitty crossfire

Maybe he would have made the same mistake. Who knows. Who cares?
It showed on Genius's face that there was a difference between ribbing your friend before the biggest game of your life (thus far) and getting it in your own booth when you're down and trying to regain presence.
His forced attempt at composure at the end was kind of painful to watch.
If Genius won and DRG got G rubbing his face in it mid set I'd have the same feelings: "I know he didn't mean any harm, but I feel bad for DRG".

Very good series overall, I hope the trend of good and close finals continues ![](/mirror/smilies/smile.gif) I was cheering for Genius but the better player definately won today.

How long till a thread about how TL front page ruined the finals for them?
Wait; i wouldnt be surprised if there was one already. XD

That's utter bollocks. Artosis completely invented that "fact" to hype the finals more, and make the players seem better. In actual fact, even when it is 8 Carriers vs equivalent cost of Corruptors, Corruptors still win. There is no barrier after which mass Carriers becomes unbeatable. Try it on a unit tester: assume that Genius had +1 attack and so did DRG, as that was the most plausible outcome. Use the Corruption ability, micro back Carriers etc. Once again, Corruptors still win.
You're missing the point. Artosis was assuming DRG wasn't going to be able to scout the carriers and wouldn't have the spire in time. 8 Carriers vs no corrupters = a Genius win.

To be honest, I'm not surprised that we see one out of every 10 posts is "omfg spoilers".
Lots of people spend don't hours a day on TL. They should default to no-spoilers, or better, put a popup window that asks you your preference if you haven't logged in or something...
I'm on tl all day and I know what's going on but you can't really blame people for not telepathically knowing about the "no-spoilers" button hidden near the bottom of the page.

lol somebody just don't get the situation of carrier there. had genius get the magic number, and had DRG never drop and stay passive, Genius would have just rolled any zerg with the carriers which should be at +2 attack.
And i realise it was also 3 stargates before the corruptor hits the carrier. I actually wonder if Genius did practice those kind of strats before whether with DRG or not cause it seems pretty well executed and the only thing that would spoil his plan is the massive drop play.

Magic number of Carriers still can't beat corruptors because of their base armor. Corruptors completely rape carriers, it would be a fair fight if carriers could be microed to abuse their superior range, but they can't because the launch range is too short and when you move the carrier interceptors lose their target.

This is not the first time Genius has gone carriers, and it never works. Calm before the Storm is a better map for it, and he got the critical mass, and still lost. Can't remember exactly which series it was from, but its not a good strategy unfortunately. Drop play is far from the online thing that will "spoil his plan", he can lose in any number of ways.

He won doing the carrier strat vs Symbol on CbtS.

it's funny and sad that the most reliable strat to kill a zerg is a 2 base timing with blink stalker and zealot when zerg gets his third. If your micro is godlike and you make a couple of gg blinks you win no matter what. stargate voidray/pheonix strat depends so much on not getting scouted and landing the first hit; it's more risky than a stalker all in. carriers is a good strat but not on 2 base... imo you need to mass up some stalkers to defend the possible drg hydra roach drop which is the only thing that can kill you. Meanwhile you get the third and only once you start mining then you get carriers and hide them while you defend scouting with stalkers.
