I would love to see MC's execution of Parting's builds. If they do end up being a good new part of the metagame we would be seeing a lot more macro games from MC, which are always nice. | ||

Thanks for taking the time to reply, I understand what you're referring to in your original post now. I'll have to take your word about it not being punishable early in any reasonable sort of manner, though it *feels* like there are some timing windows that could be hit by Terran as a response if they don't go 15cc... But as you say, that puts you behind economically initially, whereas the Protoss is able to scout that and react accordingly either way. If he sees a 15cc he grabs a third, and if he sees a barracks he can react accordingly, whereas Terran doesn't have that chance. That being said, I understand that concern in that the 3 base timing basically gives the Protoss the ability to either end the game outright, or keep/pressure the Terran on 2 base while building a macro lead. In RTS traditionally, you risk short term to pay off long term, but it seems like this build allows you to pressure both short and long term. The vulnerability to a timing push from Terran in that time frame *should* be there logically. The reason this build is so powerful is because the Protoss is ahead in Tech due to the CC being started previous to the 2 nexus', so the tech hole is there to exploit at the same time as macro. | ||
