Hello everyone! This is the official thread for the second online qualifier for IGN Pro League Team Arena Challenge 2! Here are some relevant links if you don't already know about IPL TAC 2:
Teams will need to be online and ready to play at 10:00 PST (18:00 GMT (+00:00)) on Sunday, January 15th. Please be aware that these qualifiers can and will take a lot of time. Forfeits and walkovers will be used if needed. If the finals are significantly delayed and both teams agree to play later, scheduling will be done after the semi-finals conclude.
Spectators Rule: Only team managers may spectate games, and ALL replays must be submitted to an IPL admin (Frank Fields/Mirhi) or teams may be asked to play their match again.

We're as sad about it as you are. They did not respond to their invitation and showed interest in the qualifiers before withdrawing from them as well. I know that we'll have an amazing season regardless. =D
Too bad IM is not going to be participating. A shame really, but I guess it gives other teams chances to qualify and win. Prime has a relatively easier side to their bracket, but I think it could go either way on the other side, with StarTale and Hoseo both strong teams.

You have to keep dtG in mind as well. Last time they beat HoSeo like 5-2 or 5-3 I can't remember which.
On January 14 2012 06:28 Soleron wrote: Is that IOv as in IOvShinyStar the Korean player?
I would assume it is, as in an e-mail I got from Mirhi stated them as Team Love, but there's always the slim chance it's IOv as in Icons of Vanity.
Very confusing really, because as far as I'm aware, lOv (the Korean Clan) isn't even a team.
lOv also has Narr, another Protoss who came very close to qualifying for Code A this season, lost 0-2 to TeriousPrime in the finals.

Yeah that's them! Looking forward to seeing some of their other players in action.
I wouldn't be so sure on both Prime and ST making it. Team League can be a bit volatile sometimes. That's also one of the reasons I love this style of tournament though.

This week's broadcast is from qualifier 1 (the past weekend) casted from replays. This coming weekend is qualifier 2 and then next week will be those games casted.
Now this is very speculative question, but after the recent GSTL tweet about the possibility of holding the finals at IPL 4 (which would be awesome) is there also the possibility of holding the TAC2 finals live?
Don't count out NSHoSeo, they played incredibly in the last team league, and have improved greatly since then. They even have a GSL Code S champion.
Very true. Hoseo is an often overlooked team. Glad to see they are participating more in foreign tournaments now.
Congrats to our two qualifying teams, if you want to see who they are, you can click on the bracket in spoiler tags in the OP. Otherwise we will be broadcasting the fantastic games from today starting on Monday and going through next Sunday!
Our broadcasts for Qualifier 2 start in just 10 minutes!
One thing to note, unfortunately, is that NSHoSeo vs. eSahara was scheduled to broadcast today but there was in issue with the replays, so we are casting mTw vs. imbaFXO instead! Enjoy! http://www.ign.com/ipl

Yup i accidently spoiled all of the results since there is no warning or anything
Yeah, they should put a note that the results in the bracket link have not been broadcast yet and/or have a results list that only has results to the games that have been been broadcast so far. Otherwise, a lot of people who are looking for current (broadcast-current) results will be spoiled with results to the entire tourney.
The GSTL may be the most prestigious team league in terms of size, viewership, and the fact that it is LAN, but the lineup of this tournament has turned out beautifully. The only team of note missing would be IM, but we have a good mix of the elite foreign and Korean teams. I cannot wait until this tournament starts. If the finals of this tournament were held live, it would be perfect.
It looks like tonight's broadcast will be the bo9 match between Alternate Attax and Acer! Tune in at 5 p.m. PST (3 hours from now) to see some great games! http://www.ign.com/ipl
That micro from Socke then was next to perfect. Target firing the colossus with his own whilst moving and then blinking stalkers down to do the same... So good.
Socke had an excellent strategy there, but having 4 zealots dance around doing nothing while the 3rd base was isolated was a horrible mistake. He could have picked off all of the drones. Getting the archons stuck did not help either...
How can we see the detailed results of each clan war? Liquipedia doesn't show them for several matches of the 1st qualifier. As for the 2nd qualifier nothing is updated yet.
Do you plan to release replays or something like that? Because I'm sure you have all these results.

Tonight's cast will feature StarTale vs. NSHoSeo in a bo9! This one is not to be missed!! http://www.ign.com/ipl Broadcast starts in 2 and a half hours!
I'm still wondering why the ipl stream seems to be getting such low amount of viewers. Quality is great, casting is good, the games are generally of high quality.

I guess since they broadcast daily, people are less interested than if it were say, a large weekend tournament, because of the fact that it airs every evening. Furthermore, the results have already been posted, so people probably know the results already. However, I think once the main TAC starts, viewership should go up quite a bit.

Probably because it's just the qualifiers. Last TAC during the semi-finals & finals there was 10k+.
Come on Ace!! Are there any results though? I'd like to see which players played against who. I don't get to watch too much, but I love keeping track of what happened.
Edit: Oh I just remembered this is a rematch from the KST somewhere around halfway through the tournament... + Show Spoiler +
Ace looked like he was going to win the 3rd game but ended up making a bad decision to attack into Jjakji, barely losing the series 1-2.
Edit 2: That was just some bad control by Ace. :-/
Shows Hoseo beating Startale 4-3... and Attax vs Prime in the semis...
I suppose so, though it didn't have the rebroadcast watermark. I haven't been able to keep track of the tournament all together though, so I'm not entirely sure.
You guys should featue BabyKnight he plays for eSahara now, and is an absolutely dominating Protoss always top 100 in the world on SC2 ranks ("NaViBabyK") last week he was number 11 in the world, and he's only been playing for 6 months! He's a very enjoyable player to watch with great macro/micro back and forth and je switches up his strategies all the time! Give his stream a watch on TeamLiquid and contact him, he needs and deserves the exposure, plus he will definately break out and start winnning the majors tournaments very soon. Love the show!!

How often does he stream? And wasn't he a former WC3 pro?

Not sure I can catch the rebroadcast today but I'd make an effort if he was involved xD

Being so uncreative that you call yoursells after a CounterStrike map witch was quite funny when we played it and after several years of nothing happens a Netherlander hints that it is inappropriate ^^ (not you, someone else several month ago)
