The Cyber Sports Network (CSN) is proud to bring the SC2 community a fresh look at StarCraft II competition. The "Rundown" is a weekly eight (8) person, single elimination invitational Cup with commentary by Rance "Mouth" Costa and Garrett "Gwin" Perchel. Combining the 'Nerd analysis' of Gwin and the mouthy antics of Rance, along with sweet music beats, viewer call ins and exclusive content, the Rundown adds a needed edge to the SC2 community.
Rundown #7 - January 19, 2012 Event Page - Brackets released by Thursday at 5 PM EST Pre Game Show with player interviews starts at 7:00 PM EST Matches start at 7:30 PM EST
If you are a top player and have not been formally invited, but would like to help support esports and it's continued growth by giving up some of your time, please contact the Cyber Sports Network. Send a direct message to csn_JohnClark
Most of the player pictures included in this OP are provided by fb.com/zemotion and the TL Liquipedia.
The Cyber Sports Network announces the return of Rance Costa to esports. Rance has been involved in esports for almost 8 years and was DJWheats partner in crime back in the day while at the Global Gaming League. Wheat and Rance were the production and personalities behind the highly successful, Epileptic Gaming Series on GGL TV.
More about Rance Costa: Most of you, if any have heard of Rance... but I can promise you that he will entertain.
Garrett "Gwin" Prechel is a relative newcomer to the esports scene. A self proclamed "Nerd" (with a capital N) Garrett brings the RTS knowledge as a skilled player of both Brood War and Starcraft II. Also in E-Sports, Garrett acts as the principle caster for Check Six Gaming's Starcraft II Division. Outside of E-Sports, Garrett works as a freelance voice actor and singer for film and tv.
Each Rundown will feature a couple of exclusive features that are not currently seen in the SC2 Community. Viewers of the stream will have an opportunity to call into the commentators and leave a voice mail with whatever rant they choose. Callers can leave messages about the commentators, the game, players or the tournament itself without having to leave their real name or engage in a live conversation.
Cyber Sports Network has secured exclusive rights to show 'FRAG The Movie' each night following the championship. 'FRAG' is an independently produced movie by Judd Saul and covers the last 30 years of the 'esports'. FRAG will open many eyes to the beginnings of eSports and to many of the issues facing the industry.

we the greeks are greatly appreciating the fact that you invited our best greek player Mista. thanks :D we ll be devoted from now on to any CSN related.
No.. Thank you for the CSN support. We are not one of the 'big 3' and we do not pour out a lot of cash in supporting just the 'accepted' top players. Truth is.. we are a start up and our capital is limited and specific to building our brand.
We appreciate your support and the support of those that take a risk on watching our events. Of course I would love to see more people stepping away from the 'established big boys' and giving some of the little guys that are trying to make a difference.. a chance.
imo in such high level of competition there are no ''big boys'' and ''little guys'', your invites could certainly upset the usually spotlighted players. Looking forward for your tours.
I have to agree with John here. We at CSN are trying to run well structured tournaments that are fun for the players. We thank everyone who participates for the support! Keep an eye on the site for all the future tournaments!
Also.. would most of you agree that compLexity really need an upgraded Logo. Those 'swooshes' are so outdated. As a graphic designer, I often read about changes in design. There was a time a few years back when almost every new logo that came out had a 'swoosh' in it. Besides the fact that you can hardly read the word 'complexity' and removing the word and just using the sybmol.. its not very recognizable. (which is key for a good logo).
Just because I can... I am going to rank the logos.
1. Evil Geniuses - Looks good in black/white and without the word "Evil Geniuses', the symbol is still recognizable. Colors are simple and there is very little 'bevel and gradiant' photoshoping to it.
2. its GoSu - Very nice symbol and the "G" being a part of it means that its recognizable without any words to it. Its clean and not overly 3D'd.
3. dtG - I love the symbol... not sure how much it applies to the team name, but overall a very solid logo.
4. Dignitas - A bit too 'overdone' with the 3D look..but the symbol stands on its on and I am sure it would look good in just a simple color or black/white.
5. Clash - The logo they use is the symbol above and a large backgrond with the team name. That is too much. They should find a way to just use the symbol and words more. Its a solid symbol that represents the team name well.
6. CheckSix - Another outdated logo.. but this one works much better then some. The "6" is strong, but without the wording of the name or the 'swooshes'... it would just be a "6". Colors are good though.
7. compLexity - They simply need a new one. Something stronger, bolder and with more meat on it's bones. You can not hardly read the wording and take that away and it looks like a million other logos with swooshes.
We will have an interview with him (TheMista) prior to matches starting. Probably around 7:15 PM EST. Make sure you are tuned in for that as well! Should be good times. Already pretty much filled up this Rundown! Looks like the good word is spreading

You will have all Greeks hooked now! We are not too many though
Every little bit helps. CSN beleives.. in order to grow.. we must create good relationships.. so if we can do that with the 14 greeks that pay attention to SC2 .. then that is what we will do!
Waiting on a few more players to submit their pictures and information.. but looks like we have 7 already confirmed. Another new team has entered the mix. Welcome xenocider from Team Binary Gaming.
Still working on Destiny to join up after being called out by dignitas.KilleR, but no response yet. Supporting the growth of lesser known players does not seem to be his 'thing'
Destiny has answered the Challenge. I would like to personally thank him for the time he will be putting into this and for the support of the event. Win or lose.. he is helping to support the 'smaller' organizations.
CSN Event page is now up for the event. This is where you will find the brackets, once they have been generated. Look for more details once the final player has registered.
catZ and Destiny in the same event! viOLet is back! KilleR calls out Destiny, a top Greek player and a 14 year old.... what more can you ask for? This Rundown should be quite entertaining! Players are now encouraged to 'trash talk' and create a friendly banter. This event is about taking chances and we encourage players to take risks and try new builds. One of the best moments so far in all of the Rundowns was the friendly banter between x6.suppy and viOLet during their finals match and again in the FFA that followed the Championship! StarCraft II needs a bit more competitive spirit with a lot more attitude!
Everyone tune up for the show... support the family and spread the network called CSN with love and caring. Awesome concept with decent potential and some great opportunities for some really underated players out there. :D Cya online.
Trash commentators honestly. They don't put on health bars, like wtf, zvz is a guessing game when it comes to engagments if you don't have healthbars on....

A shame because the player pool is decent.
Its really not that big of a difference. Even when the health bars are up its super hard seeing the difference between whos roaches are whos. Plus its kind of refreshing that they dont give a fuck about the chat.
No healthbars is okay with me. It's certainly no reason for me to not enjoy a stream. If your standards of enjoying a stream are based on commentators and health bars, you may need to re-evaluate whether you actually enjoy watching starcraft.
After wathcing it back I think we can fix the health bar problem by going back to 'selected' with it. thats what we've had for the rpevious epiosodes, but somehow it got tripped this time... we'll definitely fix that.
My opinion is I feel health bars on all the time while useful for players doesn't make a good presentation for all spectators... So I want to keep it to a minimum but I totally agree not seeing health bars for engaging units is a problem. We'll adjust in ep #8!!!! ))
Congrats to viOLet on winning his 5th Rundown Cup.
This last one was easily the most exciting as Destiny made it to the finals and gave viOLet his toughest Finals to date. Destiny is the only player to have taken 2 maps from viOLet in a series.
VODs, replays, highlights and full matches (seperated by match) will be up on Twitch and YouTube this week!
