Let's have a nice clean LR thread folks! Beware that moderation will probably be stricter than usual, balance whine, player bashing and trolling will not be tolerated! |

Just make sure you watch, or have watched, MVP vs Lucky series. Thats the only series I actually recommend tonight.

it`s not that impressive, but my predictions turned out correct :D good to see nestea winning again.

We're discussing the games here and what Lucky (zergs) can do in certain situations. He didn't posted a one-line "TERRAN IS OP".
Tell us what to discuss please, if we're not allowed to talk about the games.

nuking the larvae so lucky couldnt re-max easily won mvp the game
mvp's strategic thinking is on another level

Overall Lucky should be pleased with his performance today. He is a better player than i thought. Idra should not be disappointed because imo he just isnt good enough and if he understands that and works hard he might have a shot at getting back in code s through code a. It would be interesting to see some kind of practise schedule from a foreigner like idra and compare it to some of the koreans.

Hot diggidy! The games today were insane.

I'm just saying that Lucky's bank is one of several factors to consider when determining how far behind he was moving into the late game (post max).

MVP's TvZ is still shaky.

This MVP guy has a lot of potential.

When will zerg figure out this MVP late game style..? There's no excuse for having 5k minerals and yet not making multiple spores and spines around every base to stop that mass nuke play + drops from tearing your economy and production apart. Lucky stopped the first few ghosts then I guess he got cocky so he didn't build spores/spines in the obvious spots and then the ghosts and drops started owning him hard losing his tech structures, drones, larva and hatcheries multiple times. He could have spent 1/10th the cost of what he lost on spines/spores and been perfectly safe.

MVP is just on another level. After yesterday's and today's games, I'm definitely more impressed by MVP than ForGG, despite the fact that the latter gets five times the hype for being the better BW player.
The elephant is, for now, dead.

Thors do 4 attacks of 6 damage each (12 vs light). Corrupters have 2 armor, so in total those attacks from thors are only going to do 16 in total, not factoring in armor and damage upgrades. I believe it was the snipes on the corrupters more than the thor damage that killed the corrupters. And after that it just went downhill.

If I know the game you're talking about from the Geforce tournament, MVP was WAYYY behind in that game and almost won still(it could of been an actual draw if he floated one of his barracks)..... So it doesn't really apply here, where MVP was at a significant advantage....

why not brood/queens? If he can snipe, you can surely heal

Cool story but why does the zerg have 3/3 roaches? At most they'll have 3 armour but 0 range.

Don't worry, Avenge will take care of Idra before that. :p

Im just shooting ideas here but I think something feels slightly shewed in these late-game scenarios for zerg against a bazillion ghosts.
BTW, AMAAAAZING game and play from MVP. He simply is the god among men. yah i mean, if you let terran to turrtle up to 20 ghosts...what can you do Banelings. Ghosts don't outrun blings. Of course that's only from what I've seen in non MVP games. I'm yet to see MVP lose lategame TvZ with ghosts... But then tanks are a problem. I'm fairly sure tanks counter banelings, correct? As a transition from a big battle with BL's, usually even if the BL's have died they've at least lessened tank numbers (or done 0 damage) and terran will now have a lot of vikings. Of course pure bling isn't what I'm saying, someone suggested ultra bling which sounds good. Ultra takes tank shots, blings get ghosts. Roach infestor bling might work as well. But to backtrack a little bit, I do agree that ghosts might be too advantageous currently in TvZ lategame. I just think that given it's still a rare occurrence we probably haven't seen properly fleshed out counters develop from top Zerg players. Instead they all continue to look lost. More famously so Nestea at Blizzcon and July in GSL September/October. But as MVP is almost the only TvZ player we see this from, and even then 1 game in a series, it's hard to see proper counters being developed and put into action yet.
So, if I may ask, what do you propose that a Terran does in late game scenarios like the game prior where Corrupters provided perfect air dominance and a meching Terran was not able to get to the brood lords to stop the final zerg army?
Infestors/Corrupter/Brood Lord seems like it would have no counter in that scenario, because Fungal counters both Marines and Vikings.
What do you think a Terran can do to win in that situation?

I can bank a ton of fucking money and still be behind in macro, army size and composition, tech, any number of things. It matters when progressing into the late-game where both players have already maxed. Having a bank allows you to remax faster (given that you've macro'd correctly also so you have the correct production facilities to quickly remax). Which lucky didn't have....(All his larvae was nuked like 1 million times)

Yeah, why the hell would the zerg have 3/3 upgrades lategame.... how absurd!
