Would it be possible to post the individual scores on the bracket this time? Not just 1:0? That would be great!

I'm completely confused about the low level of skill that the korean teams are displaying (normally their mechanics are just soo perfect).. I mean forgetting supply depos for 10 seconds (no joke); the fxo clan war vs I can't remember which american team looked staged to be honest. Are they dealing with mega mega lag issues or pretending to send in their top players when in reality theyre chosing random diamond koreans? I dont mean any disprespect by this but it looked so fake... Leenok losing a zvz to an unknown.. gumiho barely barely managing to beat him.. If you compare their play to that of daily ksl.. well you can't; there isn't any comparison possible- one would say that it's not the same players... I'm just baffled by what I saw. edit: it was FXO vs RoX.KIS .. 4-3 . . . But the final team line up should be fricking awesome no doubt. Gogo Mouz .
Yeah this probably wasnt the right thread to post this is in, in retrospect z_z my bad.

You, sir, underestimate how good RoX.KiS is. They have some powerhouse players.

I'm so excited for the second qualifier! I was only able to catch a little bit of the first one, I'm defiantly going to try and watch all of this one!

For FXO, I actually asked on twitter what hours they played from since I knew it was bad on KST. Apparently it was sometime during 12am - 8 am so many of them were very sleepy. I'm glad they made it through though ^^

I was actually concerned about this yesterday, even when there is nothing going on, if I center on the map (TPW Artifice) my framerate goes from 62 to 30, instantly going back up as soon as you look away from there.

Brackets are up, click the big red link and then click the "brackets" tab.

Looks like It's Gosu has the bottom half of the bracket all wrapped up. Top quarter is gonna be a slugfest, though.

yea it does seem like the bracket is top heavy...
|
Brackets were done randomly last time, so there's bound to be some wackiness
Edit: I really don't think ItsGosu is such a sure thing from the bottom. BLAST (sYz had 11 straight wins in the FXO KotH), coL, Clash and Quantic could all pose a threat. Even Nightmares is there and not to be taken lightly, they advanced to the semifinals last time.
Vile vs imbaFXO first round is really rough though. I bet whoever wins that match will make it to at least the quarterfinals.
I think quarterfinals will look as such
eSahara vs Dignitas RoX.KiS vs Vile Quantic vs Clash BLAST vs ItsGosu
|
I signed up my team, via email, via binary beat, and we're still not in the brackets. There's opening left and I want to know what's going on. I applied for the first qualifier the 4th day of registration and got nothing, I applied the first day of the second qualifier signups and still got nothing...
I checked to see if the brackets are up and we're not in them what gives?
I run "Team Brozo" by the way.

Yeah, I noticed bozo, but no I didn't submit the name wrong.
Team Brozo is there, but for some reason they didn't put a space between Team and Brozo

Thanks for spotting it, we have now hopefully corrected it and the new version has been uploaded on NA and EU servers.

Especially since MrBitter has casted TPW Artifice in a Map of the Month tournament a few months ago. ^^ But well, you can't expect them to remember every map or game they have casted.

not sure I like the holographic walls on that map, looks like a pain to play through ><

Holy shit. HeavensLight is fucking insane.

7th spot seems like it should go to Quantic, as their bracket doesn't seem too bad.
8th spot is up in the air, since there's no clear best team in that bracket. Maybe Dignitas if they play some upcoming players like Bling and TanDongHo.

Or Roxkis or eSahara, if they play Maka, Check, etc.
And Vile looked really good in the IPL qualifier thingy, there are really many teams who could take it.
|
Wait, eSahara has picked up HongUn? Half of the old Primeteam is on eSahara now.

I'm really not into caster bashing and I don't think I've ever said something similar, but I want to punch a wall everytime CatZ says "fo' shizzle". Gooooodddd that annoys me.

Thank you very much<3
So I guess this is his new team, seems logical after they already signed Check and Maka.
Maybe eSahara didn't want to rush the announcement until they actually saw him play, in case it turned out to be a fake HongUn.
|
Wow. Vile lost too LagTT
|
I just tried watching an alternative stream to see some lower level teams play, and wow...my head hurts. Besides the caster lacking in game knowledge, getting contradicted a second later all the time, and being nearly monotone, the two teams were...horribly bad. If they are NA masters, is the NA server that bad? I think I've been watching Koreans streaming too often.

Maka was once the pride and hope of Prime. What a difference a year makes. T.T

iSJEcho vs maka was a good game

Haha, NASL makes fun of themselves giving away some of those "My life for Auir" thundersticks from the season 2 live event

Just found out Gretorp is obsing. Good job so far. Only once in 3 games or so have you been late to a (significant) fight. That's not an insult - the GOM observer late a little more often than that.

This is the best stream thats on right now even with thorzain and steph playing.
gretorp really does need another player to cast with him but hes gotten really good sense I think he stopped going super tryhard and just started experimenting on what works. Been a crazy ammount of upsets and actualy underrated players winning. (jecho anyone?)

It's crazy cause I've only seen Caliber play macro games PvT and only seen PicNic voidray allin/dt rush. Quite a big change, of course this is only out of a few games, but still.

HOLY SHIT, NASL
I've heard a lot of people asking why people stop watching NASL, I myself have asked that question.
Well i decided to watch these qualifiers now and the first thing I see when I join the stream is Gretorp talking about his childhood and how he was playing fotball for five minutes, then him and Catz proceed to argue about how many work @ NASL - and start the game by talking in Spanish?
THIS FEELS SO PROFESSIONAL
Sorry for this, but it just hurts to hear this when you know that NASL are losing viewers and there are rumours that it might be canceled.

I actually like the banter. This is being streamed live without many (if any) breaks that you'd typically see a live events. I much prefer this to "next match in X: Y vs Z" screens.
The only really bad thing is the lack of result reporting, especially in the bracket (1:0 seriously?)

We were forced to wait 20min for eSahara yesterday on stream, but when it's iS we can't get the same today? 8 minutes ago" Sounds like a mess, guess no NASL for me tonight then...
Just curious, was iS playing Light today? I am not following this at all, I just also saw Zemotion's tweet.

Well i decided to watch these qualifiers now and the first thing I see when I join the stream is Gretorp talking about his childhood and how he was playing fotball for five minutes, then him and Catz proceed to argue about how many work @ NASL - and start the game by talking in Spanish?

this is awesome. I hope they keep it that way as they are right now. it is hilarious )))

The way NASL doing this is so...... different. And I like it ^_^

Are there fucking RESULTS somewhere ? I mean, something like.... not a bracket full of 1-0 of no details ? Even liquipedia doesn't have match details
this absence of coverage is what makes me not look at nasl, there's no way to follow what's happening and catch up...

I don't understand how not knowing the score but knowing the results means you can't catch up? You can easily see who beat who and where the current match is happening in the bracket?
It's only a qualifier afterall too.
|
What's interesting to me is knowing *who* beat *who* in the matches, not just "X team beat Y team". I get absolutely no hype when I can't follow which player did what, who played against who etc.. What I mean about catching up is that : who already played ? Which players are left ? If I hop on, I see a match going on, a score and that's all. Even the overlay right now doesn't have the name of 1 player, I've been listening for 4 minutes, I still don't know who the zerg is. I'm a bit sad I'd like to follow but everything I said is what's important to me and it just doesn't connect.
And "catching up", say I miss a qualifier, I can only see my favorite team is out or got through, no way to know how... they got allkilled ? Had a rough match ? I don't know anything.
|
When did Kawaii get so good?

I agree with you, the coverage for this qualifier is non-existent. NASL made a lot of promises for 2012, but nothing changed it seems.

A bored Catz, a bored Gretorp. Last 20minutes watching bored guys, being bored. Horrible, amateuristic, coverage. But its in 1080 so i get to view bored guys being bored in very high quality. Christ, note to self; don't click NASL link again.
ow, a story about gretorp babysitting his brother, his back hurting from his chair, working out, making a twitterpost at Eizo, all in a high def, low quality bored state of mind does not make a good esport production.

what's with gretorp's hair?

Seriously, it's a live qualifier for a team league. You need entire teams there at a specific time so there is bound to be some down time.
I'm entertained by it and it's obviously only gonna get better when the actual season starts.

Umm...I am puzzeld...I refreshed the stream and now I am 2 games before what I watched?!?

i am kinda surprised that iS was surprised that NASTL was biased toward certain teams... its their league/format/admins/rules but hey what can u do?

NASTL is seriously the worst-produced tournament I've ever watched.
Catz saves it from being unwatchable.

That's a bad standard to set. That everyone should automatically assume bias instead of expecting and striving for equality.

worst possible thing that could have happened just happened Nice.

why they dont give any informations on the maps, players rank, background, etc... this is so boring...

Gretorp is one of the most biased commentators on the scene.

Yes! Great that Roxkis get through, I really want to see what they can do against better teams than the ones that played here.
Unfortunately they didn't have many games broadcasted, I'd have liked to see more.
|
Light so close If only one could've beat Slivko, the rest of RoxKis is not at his level.
|
gretorp just playing with one of those balloon things lol
|
Yup Gretorp is bored
+ Show Spoiler +trying to play jingle bells with thundersticks

There must be downtime as different teams start/end their games at different time, causing the casts to be really delayed sometimes... wait till they start the real season, then things will start getting organised :D

Livezerg and Titan are as good, if not better than Slivko

Most of Roxkis roster is above the level of like everyone on Light. Titan, LiveZerg, Pomi are really good, Abver is no slouch either.

Cool, I wish I could see who he beat during these qualifiers.
I just saw this in the OP:
"Team managers must email their results (INCLUDING EVERY REPLAY) to xeris@nasl.tv!
- Include the names of all players in this format: Player A > Player B (Map name) - And all the replays! DONT FORGET - Include YOUR TEAM NAME, OPPONENTS NAME, and ROUND in the SUBJECT of the email"
Do you keep the detailed results for yourself or how does this work?

I haven't documented all the results, no. We didn't plan to spend a lot of time/energy on the qualifiers, but rather for the full league when it begins next week. We are going to be covering everything once the full league starts. I'm going to release all the replays I have from both Week 1 and Week 2 qualifiers for people to enjoy this coming week.
Hope this answers your question

He literally stopped all his drones for about 10 seconds in the 2nd minute of the game for some reason (choke??), not sure why ~~

Anyone know if Quantic has its 'big guns' available for this? They've got a pretty solid roster all-round but would be sexy to see SaSe or Nani bring out the pain

Sorry for the crudeness, i was just really surprised by the production.. But cry, no. Complain, ofcourse. They are a commercial operating business that should take their target audience serious. Its not me, its airing a production with such low quality you wonder what they are thinking. I unnderstand difficulties with times, teams etc. But work on solutions in your off-air time, not while you run your show - you open yourself to critisism by your public.
Commercial activities should take complaints as serious oppurtunities to rectify their mistakes and betters their operation. Its attachment to tournaments they want, seeing one of these poorly organised shows doesn't attach the audience to a next airing, it demotivates them. Who's going to keep an eye on the schedule to see when the next show is due when they are not entertained the first time.
I just want as many good tournaments as can be. They have enough comparing/leading material to take notes from, IPL, GSL, hell even the low-cost production like KSL/Shoutcraft do a better job at pure hour/games ratio. For a 'big' name in the tourney world like NASL, i expect more. Simple as that. Seeing gretorp being utterly bored, a Catz spinning in his chair waiting.. Ye its no wonder the live report thread doesn't go beyond 10 pages after the games. I understand the problem of logistics, but on-air is no place to confront your commercial target audience with your inability to solve them.
|
for some reason i can never quote someone without automatically losing all the quoted text..kinda weird.
I agree with loxley though completely. I mean what would have happened if people were fine with the MLG where we had like no stream for the whole weekend, and instead of giving it the shit it deserved just let it be fine? NASL just seems to have to step it up more it seems.
|
Gratz to Quantic Gaming! They've clinched a spot for NASTL without even using their big guns :D Agh was such a beast!

The only really bad thing is the lack of result reporting, especially in the bracket (1:0 seriously?)
I have to agree here. Catz and Gretorp are hilarious together. Yesterday and today were imo the best days of regular season NASL I've watched.
But yeah, the bracket is kinda annoying -_-
