And as always, if you are from the NY or NJ area and would like to participate, you are more than welcome to enter. Just remember that the finals are held on location and you would need to show up to compete. It looks like the finals will be held at GosuLAN @ 225 Arlington St. Framingham, MA

Fuck yes! Been looking forward to this for a while. Awesome to see the finals at Gosulan too, should be a great time.

I also forgot to mention, we have a Mumble server setup for the New England area. It's a great place to go if you are competing and want to chat with everyone as if we were at a LAN like seasons 1 and 2. All the information is here: http://www.nesc2league.com/forum/index.php?topic=88.0

Um, if I play, am I binded to show up to grand finals? I can't promise 100% that the date/travel will work out, though I will definitely try to make it from NYC.
You should have people also add their location when they sign up, else random pros can just take the money with zero plans of coming to grand finals.

As far as the random pros go, you have to register on the NESC2League forums. Since I am an admin there, I have access to your IP address. Suspicious IP's get banned.
|
Have you guys figured out how to set up a significant stream delay? I forsee this being a problem in the future, what if someone lies anyways and blames a loss on the other player cheating, you cant really prove whether or not the person is lying.
|
I see. Will play then, I spose ^^
|
Yes this will be aweosme! i cant wait!! and yes drogith i will have a solution to your questions for the viewing. And ill have signs all up by then and it will be pretty sweet!! Cant wait for this!

Twitch activated the time delay on the NESC2League account, so now we can delay the stream by up to 15 minutes.

Hahahha purely hypothetical situation, right Tim? Can't believe its third season already! Do it up Drogith

Really looking forward to this! Hopefully more of the LANs for this season will be closer to NH...

I think you should only give 50% of the cash prize after the tournament, with the remaining 50% given to the players after they compete in the Grand Finals. Should give people some incentive to go. And if they don't show up, you can roll it into the prize pool for the Grand Finals.

WOOT! Can't wait for this! I have tons of friends from england!

But then again, I don't get anything, so what do I know :p
BTW, we already have 3 people signed up as well as 4 prizes from sponsors being sent out of 6. All of these will be spotlighted during the tournament and we still have the same sponsors as last year; Kingston, NZXT, and Cooler Master!

This looks awesome :D Hopefully this will do well

Really excited for this. Is there anyway xelnaga can be removed though? ZvT is really hard on that map,and since its b03 losers choice no veto its pretty significant.

If a better map is found, or more popular ones to play on, then maps can be shifted in and out of the map pool. We did it a lot in the first season and in the early half of the second season.

Be'lshir Beach is a lot of fun.
|
On January 03 2012 13:58 BronzeKnee wrote: Be'lshir Beach is a lot of fun.
I second this, especially the winter version!
While I can understand why some people would want Xel'Naga to stay in the map pool, I think the majority would agree with its removal. Also Crossfire and Testbug could be replaced too! These three maps could very well be replaced by Daybreak, Antiga Shipyard and Dual Sight!
MLG Metalopolis
MLG Shakuras Plateau
MLG Shattered Temple
MLG Tal’darim Altar
MLG Antiga Shipyard
MLG Daybreak
GSL Dual Sight
|
Bel'shir was actually used during season 2 and it was taken out of the map pool do to people disliking it. I think it's sexy personally. But thanks for bringing this up. I didn't realize that Dual Sight was not actually on the list. That is something that was overlooked and will have to change.
|
The new belshir snow map has only one entrance to the natural, if u want to keep the balance but still have the map i suggest using that one. (old belshir had rly awkward forge fe walls etc
|
I'm going to do a little research later today, but it looks like there will be some changes to the map pool. Def will chat about it tonight during 'Fight Night'.
|
After some discussion last night during our weekly Fight Night, I have some new maps to introduce to the map pool. I do have to check on one though to see what funky balances were done to it. They will be updated tonight.
What maps do you want to see? Antiga? Bel'shir (winter)? Dual Sight? Metropolis? Ohana RE? (These may or may not be some of the maps, just suggestions) Get rid of these maps since they are tired? Testbug? Xel'Naga Caverns? Crossfire?
|
|
Alright we are up on the calendar for Jan 28. Looking forward to see you all there.
|
After doing some surveying and checking out the new maps, I've decided to change the map pool up a bit and finalize it by Wednesday's Fight Night on stream. We will be going with the HSC4 map pool selection process as well as a combination of GSL, MLG, and ESV maps.
Map Pool Elimination Style The top seeded player will veto 3 maps. The lower seeded player will then veto 3 more maps and choose the first map to play on. Games 2 and 3(if needed) will then be played on the remaining 2 maps in a Bo3. Loser picks.
In a Bo5, the veto will go the same, however instead of 3 maps each, the players will only veto 2 maps.
Map Pool MLG Daybreak ESV Cloud Kingdom (newest version with less smoke) MLG Antiga Shipyard GSL Bel'Shir Beach (winter) ESV Edge of Oblivion MLG Shakuras Plateau GSL Metropolis ESV Ohana Re MLG Shattered Temple
These maps are based on ones considered "tired" by many players and from polling on several websites. I hope you enjoy the mix, and as I said, we will be finalizing this Wednesday, January 11th at Fight Night. If you would like to add your input, please join us and make sure to sign up for the tournament!

I just want to remind everyone that there are less than 2 weeks left to register for this. We've always had such great turnouts for these events when they were on-site and now we move onto the digital age. Remember, I'll be on the mumble server so we can all chat and hang out like old times... except now with out any pants on.
|
Well that's no good, the last registration made the Z = P + T! Will nobody stop the alien menace?
|
I just modified the first post so it syas X/32. I'm not saying how many are registered just yet, but it's not the 32 that some people may think. There is still room.
|
|
|
Well this is a new thing! Anachromy just told me that he got the full 100% go ahead from his boss to use a 30x50 studio to do the commentary from... can you say studio audience? More details will be coming out as I get them from him.
|
Oh yeah baby, we are doing this in 6 days! And the best part is we will be airing live from a studio with room for some nerd ballers to come down and watch. I will be getting the address soon since I will be there as well. Anyone else want to join in on the party?
|
Only 2 days left to register for this event. Remember, the winner of this tournament gets the #1 seed at the finals in May, which happens to be an on-site LAN. Don't hold back, be a champ!
|
Tomorrow is the last day to register, and we've had about 4 more signatures just in the last 24 hours. Will you beat the buzzer?
|
Is there still room? I will have issues with paypal - I can figure them out and send it to you asap.
|

Yes, there is still room, even if you brought a few friends.

It's played in advance. Group maps are all being played this week, not live on Saturday.
I'm playing in the invitational as well as this too.

Your second statment is correct and like I PM'd you with. The only people outside of New England that can sign up are those from NJ and NY since several of them have showed the dedication to travel to live events in the past.
|
Registration is now closed and the paypal links have been removed. We have 18 players signed up for this event and I will see you all this weekend on the NESC2 League streaming page!
|
I will see you all tomorrow at 11 and everyone competing much before that. Make sure to join the "NE SC2 League" private channel in chat to check in! m155g33k will be matching everyone up.
