The Global Challenge Sao Paulo is the last GC before the World Championship Finals. It will take place at the Campus Party from the 7-11th of February 2012 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. 16 players from America, Europe and Asia will compete for $21,000, direct qualification to the World Championship Finals and points for the IEM Ranking.
Europe will have four spots at the tournament which will be handed out in two qualifiers.

Season Rankings
The Top 24 players of the season will qualify for the World Championships at the CeBit in March 2012. The ranking is based on their results from the Global Challenges this season. Finalists are directly qualified and the remaining spots are filled according to the ranking.

Yes, HSC starts also at 5th.

So far a lot of high level German sign-ups with Socke, GoOdy, HasuObs, Delphi and DarK.FoRcE. Feast will try to qualify for his second straight Global Challenge and KroLu & merz are also in the race.

It begins in 4 hours, not many people until yet, but the number of participants grows; Diestar and Akkis did sign up, since I checked the participants last time.

Once I had an opponent who attacked my banelings with like 6 DT´s. European Qualifiers don´t fail to surprize me, first Feast making in through in the first qualifier (I guess at this time I am allowed to say, that he advanced) and now the second semi-final is quite surprising as well.
