I'd be happy to see 3 out of these 4 players move on to the NASL Grand Finals.
I think ThorZain would be the best, just because he's very well known.
I'd like to see CrazymovING make it, after his recent brief success in the GSL.
Gatored is really on a roll right now as well, I hope he does well.
I just don't think TargA deserves it as much as the other three, I have nothing against him personally.
So does only one get through? = /.
Gotta go for Thorzain, although it's pretty damn close...

Just out of curiosity, how will the maps be chosen for the season 3 map pool?
go thorzain!!! =D
I hope Gatored wins. NA needs some new talent and he's been impressing lately.
I think CrazyMoving has the best chance at the finals, hope he makes it.
Glad to see all these players in for season 3 though. And some cool maps, I've really liked watching most of them.
He's crazy, AND he's moving!
TargA fighting! Great to see a SEA player get so deep in this tourney.
This is currently not on the "upcoming events" here at TL?
it says here it starts november 22, 2011 at 0:00 GMT... but on the site is says it starts at 18:00 PST, or 02:00 GMT--can you update the op so we actually know when it starts? Thanks
This is supposed to be on now right?

I submitted the event with the other ones earlier... not sure why it didn't go through o.O
I submitted another one so we'll see.

Should be on right now, no?

Also it seems like the NASL stream has been knocked down to non-featured for some reason.

That was explained a while ago when the new formatting thing came out.

We need to support NASL more, would hate to see a tournament like this fade into obscurity.
Cannot wait for the finals.
Glad i checked this thread, been excited to watch this. I hope others find it!

The EU broadcast yesterday had 5000 viewers. I blame the TL calendar for lack of knowledge.

I spoke with R1CH and got the event up, should be there now.

Airing game 2 first?
nvm, don't know what they were talking about at the beginning then

Good build by Targa, teach him not to be so greedy

Wait what happened to game 3.

What? What happened to game 3?

Quick question, does Gatored have to win two Bo3s or something due to the fact that ThorZaIN has yet to lose?

No, just a standard BO7 I think

yea man what happened lol there was a huge jump in time

Is this a re-cast? So strange when the calendar sais "Running! (started: 38 minutes ago)" and the results for ThorZain vs Gatored is already reported in the OP spoiler and game 2 is playing.

Growing pains well into adulthood NASL^^
Happy to see a norwegian qualify for something that does not have a national qualifier.

That was the Winner's Bracket FInals... this right now is the Grand Finals.

Did they just skip a whole series + game 3 of Crazymovin vs Targa?

kthx, got confused when I jumped in to the stream and watched the op. A bit too little info for my brain to get the pieces together. :p

NASL is so bad for Korean players.

Why are there so many friggin walkovers in the nasl season? How can people take this tournament seriously if the players themselves don't?

Oh, you're right, is a BO5, my apologies. T.T

Gretorp isn't listening to his co-caster at all. He keeps repeating things he just said, and acting surprised to see things that his co-caster already said.
The format is Thorzain starts with 1-0 due to winning the wb, and the final being a bo5, fairly standard tournament format.
Thorzain's SCVs are not distributed properly. He has like 20 in his main on 3 mineral patches, instead of transferring them to his 3rd.
What's happened to Thorzain?
Thorzain is playing pretty bad IMO.
His economy management is bad, resulting in a small army.
Gatored is really impressing right now.
Gatored doesn't look like an underdog. Actually, I haven't heard much from Thorzain after TSL3. How/What has he been doing?
This can't be the foreign #3 terran protoss-slayer playing. Is HeRoMaRinE playing on T-zain's account? /denial

After TSL3 ThorZaIN was set to appear in the Swedish WCG qualifiers, but got sick and never showed up. At MLG Columbus 2011, ThorZaIN fought through the open winner's bracket to land a spot in Championship Pool Play. Notable matches included a victory over IdrA as well as an extended series between MC where he managed to take 2 games before ultimately losing 2-4. Although he would be unable to reach the medal podium, he would finish in 9th place as the furthest reaching player from the open bracket.
Korea MLG had the right to grant three Code A spots to top competitors at MLG Columbus. Thorzain accepted that offer and participated in GSL August. He also participated in the 2011 Global StarCraft II Team League Season 1 as a part of the combined team, F.United. [11] In Code A, his first match was up against YuGiOh, who 2 - 1'd Thorzain and thus knocked him out of Code A.
However, in his GSTL debut he showed off his true skills by defeating three Korean opponents before finally losing to Genius. In addition, ThorZaIN tweeted on August 31st that he would be staying at the SlayerS house instead of the WeMade FOX house until he leaves Korea on the 8th, since WMF would be ceasing their progaming operations.[12]
After Korea Thorzain was invited to the Dreamhack Valencia Invitational, as announced on September 1st.[13] He finished second, losing to DongRaeGu 2-3 in the finals.

Pretty sure Thorzain will win this game, since the HoN game is scheduled for 40 minutes from now.
Well he just held that push so he's safe and ahead in tech
thorzain needs a few more barracks
Gatored's natural has too many probes on one of the gases, not that it mattered much that game
On November 22 2011 11:53 Zzoram wrote: thorzain needs a few more barracks Yeah, I'm really not liking how he stops at 6 Barracks (4 Tech Lab, 2 Reactor) even when he's on four bases. :/

I don't think Thorzain is playing his best this series. Previous games in this series shows him sort of slacking on micro (game1 with the vikings, etc). He's making Gatored look really good at least. But after IEM NY, I consider Gatored quite underrated and coming out of nowhere. He has potential to be really good. But I doubt he's facing Thorzain at his normal skill level or even close to his best.
Thorzain needs to get more rax, I hope he does that here in this game, he uses so few despite being such a good macro Terran.
lol wtf is Gatored doing, maynards his probes but has them idling in the mineral line not mining
Finally a game where he goes up to 8 rax
Gatored beat Ganzi 2-0 this weekend....but this is the 'Zain!
This is actually a lot more even than the commentators are making out. Gatored is ahead on upgrades and ahead on supply.
One thing I really like about Gatored is that he maxes his army out so fast, and gets upgrades quite quick as well.
Thorzain should probably get more than 3 medivacs for his ~80 MM

Yes. I looked at the supplies and unused resources after last engagement and was pretty surprised. Gatored is chronoboosting/distributing his probes very well I guess.
Thorzain won because of those cloaked ghosts EMPing all the high templar
Sexy yet sloppy. gogo T-zain! :D
Thorzain's ghosts man, I think MvP might be better with his ghost usage but he's the only one who can match Thorzain.
Grats Thorzain, nice try Gatored.
Holy christ those EMP's. The radius change doesn't matter when you have 15 ghosts that can repeatedly blanket an entire army.
It's good that Thorzain makes it into NASL S2, but on the other hand, both players played so sloppy. If Thorzain plays like this at NASL S2 he's going to lose.
Anyone know when these games were played?
Gatored would have won that if not for the bad engage and the lack of gateways.
On November 22 2011 12:17 Zzoram wrote: It's good that Thorzain makes it into NASL S2, but on the other hand, both players played so sloppy. If Thorzain plays like this at NASL S2 he's going to lose.
This, I hope Thorzain brings his A game for NASL S2 Finals.
Good game by Thorzain. Gatored really wasn't prepared for that early ghost push.
On November 22 2011 12:07 Zzoram wrote: lol wtf is Gatored doing, maynards his probes but has them idling in the mineral line not mining Missclick obviously? It happens quite often when you play at high speed that you click just on the side of the mineral field instead of on it.
Looking forward to DeMuslim vs Thorzain at the finals. Should be a great game.
So the match ups for the final are already out?
Dayum targa looks like one of those super buff strongman on tv lol.
i think forge upgrades are a bit overrated against terran and don't help that much like some casters often say.
early investing in other tech instead helps more imo. or getting more gates, bigger army. i dont say you dont need them. later on if you have the money ofc you need them to keep a chance.

yay thorzain :D

Why is Demuslim playing Thorzain? You just arbitrarily seeded him as number 14 or 15? Wouldn't it make more sense to put him against one of the playoff bracket winners since they are lower seeded?
Dumbest format for a big tournament, best of 1 means a lot of shit players can get through overtopping better players with cheese and all-in plays.
Thorzain fighting!! Good to see him winning again

It's not arbitrary... he's playing the last seed of the people who got in for being top 2 in the group. If you wanted them to play some of the playoff winners they'd have to be seeded like top 5...
They way they did it I think is probably the most fair for everyone...

Every game in the regular season was best of 3, every game in this open tournament was best of 3 until the finals, which was best of 5. Every game in the actual finals are best of 5 with a best of 7 finals.
So, you're wrong.

Demuslim is either second or third (he has to play a playoff with Puma to decide that), not near the bottom. It does seem arbitrary.
