That build works against Ret because he is one of the greediest Zergs around. He had basically no units when HerO attacked, expecting the usual VR + Phoenix harass, but that map being one of the best maps around for warp prism play he was bound to be punished at some point.

It's not remotely easy to pull off. His sentry micro was sick.
Not remotely easy is an understatement lol - to micro like that while keeping up with macro the way Hero did can only be done by tier 1 pro-toss players in the world.
That said, I feel like these sort of strategies rely so heavily on knowing your opponent, those who always go such insane amount of drones asap (like Ret) is most vulnerable to such builds.

That's pretty much the most complicated form of drop play you can pull off in sc2 rofl.
Says alot about the game though...
Drops in BW are hardly more complicated. What makes a good drop successful is a good diversion and fast execution.

Eh, it was almost unneeded though. By the time he had to micro his sentries, he had already killed most of the drones and the Hydralisk Den. It's not easy to do it like Hero, but it's definitely an abusive build, and it is easy to pull off a shittier version of it.
Yeah, its totally abusive to zergs who go blind double expand off of slow lings. That's a totally safe and valid build...
News flash, fast third hatch is the typical response to FFE.

He threw one spell on the ramp? Props to Hero, amazing Protoss, but I feel people are "over-hyping" that little play there. It is really something easy to perform at that level. I myself have no idea why protoss don't do it more often, especially on some of those more zerg favored maps like Dual Site, makes the two base push even stronger when cutting out the other hatch or two.
It was risky move by hero too. But you gatta give props to hero for making such decisions. In the first game, ret was harrased massively by air. In the second game, Hero once again abused the air weakness of ret and forced him to stay on his toes and build spores instead of units. He denied all the scouting, watch towers so that he can proceed with the sentry drops. It was purely based on his tactics and it worked perfectly for him.

Newflash! How do you avoid it? I know many people claim its op and others simply say no, but no denier of it being OP has yet said what zerg should do to combat vortex aside from being MORE than two bases ahead. Even then.... huk vs aria...
Huk vs Aria wasn't a serious game at all. Aria threw random comps at huk the whole time, anyone who understands the game can see how silly it was.
Zerg's CAN spread. When its Mothership/Archon against mass BL the Z has to play it kind of like a Terran. Slowly push, spread out broods, protect them. If you just 1a in and stack up, you WILL LOSE. Its the fact that Zerg players aren't used to slow pushing with slow units, they're used to swarming into the slow push and breaking it.
i know how to beat the toilet. mass banes and put them in the toilet along with the archons. boom.
wow you're really smart!

no you stfu. what would happen though I never tried.
Arent vortexed units immune to damage for a short period or time (a sec or 2?) when leaving the vortex?
yeah but so are the archons that go inside. and if the archons are outside, then the banes have invuln and thus they are even better off.
but if they explode before it wears off they do 0 dmg? I guess you could wait a sec or two and manual detonate

banes are cost inefficient against archons
Should be just hitting the rest of their army with banes =P. 200/200 army of ling/baneling literally beats anything on the ground (except maybe 200/200 tank or colossi -.-) simply because of how supply effective they are. Wish zergs would remember that instead of massing roaches sometimes
