It's so retarded that banshees hardcounter everything pre mutas. Banshees both outrange and outdmg EVERYTHING early game that can be considered a threat to these flying dts.

1 banshee loses to 1 queen, and doesn't outrange it.
1 banshee loses to 1 spore crawler, and doesn't outrange it.

Both are also cheaper than a banshee.

I mean, I appreciate a good imba whine, but I can't think of a single Zerg unit that doesn't outrange a banshee. Unless you mean that LINGS can't hit them.

Banshee actually beats a queen in 1v1, also banshees can move around, obviously you wont be in situation where you have a banshee fighting a spore 1v1.. you will obviously position all your banshees to be able to kill 1 spore at a time. to cover all the area you would need to be very cost ineffective and make 10+ spores

Banshee shoudn't beat a queen 1v1 unless both start shooting at the same time. Queen has a range advantage and can start shooting earlier. Brb testing.

No need to test, the queen wins if she has the 1st shoot.

Been testing it and the Banshee wins

Just tested it too because I know I have been testing this like 6 months ago and was 200% sure the queen won...and the queen lost :o

I still don't get why GomTV is so fucking stupid to let the group phase be BO1's. asd just needs 1 lucky cheese and Nestea has to fight through a ton of matches to be able to get back in code S, just rediculous.
With so many cheeses available in sc2 BO1 is just silly, there is almost no 'safe' play. Even worse being unlucky to get 0-2'd could mean you face a good code A player and even get knocked down to code B immediately.
I just don't get why such idiots get to make the most important tournament...

If Nestea loses enough, then he deserves to fall out.

After all, a tournament is not supposed to be an absolute measure of skill. For if the strongest people won all the time, there would be no excitement. Cheese allows weaker players to win. Id adds excitement.

But it will always piss off the fans of the loser, who will always look for someone to blame other than something wrong with the player they love. They will blame the game or the opponent or the opponent's race. Cheese is legit, will always exist, and is a function of the fact that pros are really innovative!

yeah defiantly! Thats what has worked for established sports. Tennis tournaments are just one set matches, and golf tourneys only go for one round of 18 holes, or car races that go for one lap

....

oh wait

Your metaphors are innacurate. And you know it. You just wanted to make the same tired old oh wait joke.

Oh wait, i'm correct.

Day9 had no reply to this, im not saying Day9 doesn't understand the game because he clearly does, but when Day9 or Idra cannot find a solution for zerg early game scouting, then the answer is there is no solution for early game scouting.

Nestea could of sacrificed 10 drones and made 10 spores blindly that game, however if SC went for a ground all in, how stupid would Nestea look? Like Idra said.. its a coinflip at best when you have to guess what your opponent is doing. Good job on SC's part though, he realized his 2 rax opening didn't work and followed up with an effective all-in.

Day9 and Idra are not the be all end all of intelligent Starcraft players. Because they can't figure out a way to solve zerg scouting during a 5 minute discussion, means that there is no zerg scouting? Is that seriously what you're implying?

And no, Day9 didn't reply to the argument because he actually went to a university where he majored in math. People like that have a very data-focused mindset and can't make broad speculations without information. Day9 never partook in the argument to begin with. That's what idras fanboys actually want to believe.

I can't believe you said that there is no early game scouting because two people in the entire world could not figure it out, regardless of whether they tried or not. You are actually annoying me...

Nestea couldn't figure it out too, you going to say day9, Idra, and Nestea don't understand sc2? Why don't you give us some suggestions since you seem to know more than Idra, day9 and Nestea put together. A wall in stops any ground scouting, marines on the edge stop any overlord scouting.. so what exactly can be done to scout? Im rank 1 master zerg on NA and am dieing for someone to answer this question.

nestea COULD have scouted the starports, but there's no way one overlord will scout the entire terran base (if the ports were instead on the other side of the base the ovie wouldn't see anything), and ovies move so slow it's hard to get 2 of them at different entrances to the base before another 1-base all-in comes.

While he could have simultaneously sent a ling to the front while the ovie distracted the rines, he still wouldn't know if it was going to be tanks or banshees either, since the wall (should) be still up and no good terran is going to show his tech choice until the last minute.

However, nestea was still rather greedy. I believe he did see the 4 banshees coming, and he only made 4 spores and no extra queens. He even made an overseer when he should know 4 banshees = no cloak. I believe you need to mass spores and queens once you see it coming. Banshees aren't cheap while spores and queens are only minerals, especially 2-base vs 1.

Zerg and toss both have poor earlygame scouting choices (especially toss), but nestea didn't react 100% properly and died.

No amount of creativity is going to get a drone past a wall in or an overlord around marines. Or something like that
