Update 8/11/2011
Hey Guys
Also Wanted to make a quick announcement, today I was contacted by the Author N Y Saleh, he is a writer of Young Adult Fiction and he and he's 3 sons love SCII, Anyway he has graciously donated the follow to the prize pool!
1st- $50 CASH, 1 Signed Copy of "Search for the Avatar" 2nd- $25 CASH, 1 Signed Copy of "Search for the Avatar" 3rd- 1 Signed Copy of "Search for the Avatar"
QUICK SYNOPSIS: It was a dark night, the ancient pyramids of Giza only just visible in the light of the sprawling city of Cairo. Suddenly black storm clouds appeared, and the light of the city seemed to just get swallowed up. There was a flash of lightning and Zak, a recently orphaned young boy, appeared deep within a secret chamber of Khufu's pyramid. Zak and his apparent aunt and uncle have come from the planet Terrah to seek safety, a life free from further tragedy... but Zak will not be so lucky. He is hunted all the way to a farm in remote New South Wales where he lives until the age of 14.
Here, Zak is loved and yet alone, powerful and yet helpless, intelligent and yet ignorant, wanting to give friendship and yet without friends. What good is there in safety if there is no life? Soon Zak must choose as his life is thrown into confusion as death follows him. But who is responsible and why? There are no bad guys, no good guys and the only person Zak truly trusted confesses to the most unimaginable crime Zak could have conceived.
And everything revolves around one word, an ancient word, a word that predates computers by thousands of years... Avatar.
Join Zak as his preconceptions are shattered and he must assume nothing as he uncovers a system of suffering and manipulation beyond anything he dared imagine. Can good people deliberately commit evil acts so good can result?

UPDATE:
So anyway I was just PMed by a member of the community who wishes to refereed to only as "The Bronze Superstar" he mentioned that since the event is around 1 month from Christmas and he nearly always spends over $300 at JBHIFI on presents, he will buy the Gift Cards off the top 3 for cash if they so chose at the rate of $1 for $1.
I wish to advise that this person is in no way affiliated with this event or City Hunter.
PS I am NOT The Bronze Superstar

If you pay for his rego and know his sc2 name and number then its fine We've had Clan leaders sign up like 6 players at once in previous events

Question. Do competitors have to pay the normal usage charges during competition? Whether it be for the actual tournament games or for warm up stuff before their games or after they've been knocked out?

The $10 covers entry into the tournament and use of a single PC in the designated area of the tournament from 10am until the tournament ends (usually around 5pm) so if you get knock out early you're free to stick around and play on the PC till the end of the comp, if you have a break between games and and you want to practice thats no problem
But if you rock up at 8am and wanna warm up youd have to pay to use of a PC until 10am

I want to go to this, but I'll have to check closer to the day whether or not I can go (planning a camping trip down to south coast around that date). When does registration close? I wanted to sign up last time, but HSC got in the way haha.
Also, are we allowed to veto a map? I like the map pool, but Shattered Temple is a terrible map in my opinion (unless its cross spawns only).

Im fairly sure the ESL version is cross spawns only?
As for rego its open until rego is full (32 people) I am however considering to open up rego to more people, but we'll have to wait and see (dont take it as a given just yet)

My friend and I really wish to play, and I would like to pay for both of us at Burwood CityHunter itself, however I went there today and the receptionist and manager said they did not know of any tournament for Starcraft II. Can you update me on this awkward situation?
Alternatively, we can use the provided link to register online. Does this system of registration allow PayPal or is it credit card only?
Thanks.

I would like to pay in person most preferably and don't want to experiment with anything new due to time restraints (HSC etc). Can you tell me how many slots are left open, or approximetly? (So I know if I can wait until my next exam on Tuesday, or if I should head over there tomorrow or on the weekend)
EDIT: Is entry based on "first come first serve" basis or skill rating?

hi ill be coming , but is this gonna be in A section or C section, last time i had a bit of lag ;P but it was playable

Is it double elim or what?

This will be in the A Section, however Burwood recently had a network upgrade and the IT manager of Burwood assured me that the A Section runs SCII with no issues, so fingers crossed!

Yeah I dunno why the shop gave Myuu discounted rego (probably because he's under 18? doesnt really make sense though lol) it is $10 for everyone so if you're buying 2 you're better off buying a $20 card (so it does deplete my $5 stock ) http://www.morefun.com.au/Product.aspx?Cid=55&Id=436

Edit: nevermind just read Chris' post. You should punish them...punish them good.

|

Its going to be played at Burwood, Since we have multiple locations we allow people to sign up at any site. The tournament however is played at 1 location!

I signed up about 2 weeks ago and i am not listed in the groups? thats pretty lame, cuz i payed my 10$ rego fee at cityhunter in chinatown. whats going on there?
|
Well I drew Moonglade. Fun times. At least I get to have my game streamed, although I'm probably not going to be proud of my performance lol.
|
This event is gonna be awesome. Almost certain I'm not going to win anything, but I'll have fun and experience some esports action. Good luck to all participants, and especially GLaDe =)
