Watch how you approach the topic of match fixing. You can speculate, saying "I'm not so sure about the finals, something doesn't sit right with me," but if you are going to outright accuse players of match fixing you need something more than your word.

TL takes match fixing/abuse seriously and as such there is a burden a proof when you are accusing players.

It's tough to argue about balance with that last game given how sloppily Nestea played within it and how well MVP played it out. MVP made very little mistakes and all the props to him for that. I just wish Nestea would have been more competitive to make it a closer and more interesting game.

Can anyone recommend me a pro level game where a Zerg has a good amount of coin banked, and attempts to break a Terran siege/ghost line using units which aren't Ultra/Brood? I don't care if they succeed or not, i just want to see if such a game exists.

I think it's a bit harsh to call it fixed, but I don't understand how the people saying that final game was epic. It just didn't feel like either of them WANTED the win. The complete lack of competitive feel ruined the match for me. It felt like two low masters players playing with many mistakes.

I suspect they decided to split the prize and show "good games" to the fans. As a result neither of them wanted to end the game too quickly without something "awesome" happening. Personally, that's not what makes a game good...

And even with that aside. It was just even worse of a turtle fest than basically every TvT i've ever seen.

hahahaha holy shit. Okay, you win. This is the post that will make me log off TL for the night.

Fuck it, I'm outtie.

Yep, having one player with almost 20k/10k and the other with like 2k/8k resources, without there being any major unit trading or battles. Totally not a turtle fest.

this is what frightened me about that final. I'm sure they were horribly unimpressed with it. Not to say they would switch anyway, but it would be nice if they had a worthwhile finals. Comparing the level of intricacy in BW matches with that final match leaves me feeling : /

Really wish the finals wasn't between two people on the same team.

Okay, guys.

I didn't see the games -- had to read the LR -- but you can split the pot and still play to win! I know, it's unthinkable, but it happens all the time in these sorts of situations when players on the same team meet up in the finals or something. 60/40 or 65/35 still gives an incentive for players to play their best! Splitting the prize pot is not the same as arranging the outcome of a match beforehand; it's just evening out the prize pool, especially when there's such a high variance. This happened all the fucking time in War3 (and still happens); ToD and Grubby split quite a hefty pot back in the day -- god, people knew ToD was splitting money since 2005, I believe -- and so long as both players play their best (which I think NesTea and MVP both did since they're both upstanding gentlemen with morals), then it's fine!

Anyways, I highly doubt NesTea threw that game, because he is prideful as all get-out; he just played badly in that set, which happens to players, y'know.

Lol, Nestea and MVP rigged this whole tournament, first game between them in winners bracket was also rigged, MVP let Nestea win because the chance of him beating Sen is bigger than Nestea. Remember first game on Shakuras? MVP doesn't even make a fucking wall-in at his first or 2nd ramp, what a terrible tournament

you mean the guy with the 92% winrate in ZvZ was afraid of sen? you don't understand, this is their job. they don't mess around with that much money on the line, and they certainly don't split the pot.

Why wouldn't they split the pot? If they both believe they have equal chances of winning, then it would be very beneficial for them to make that agreement before the games, so they both eliminate the risk for a slightly smaller prize for the winner.

However, I doubt they rigged MVP losing the winners finals tho, and I'd expect them to still play to win the grand finals for the fame, even if the prize was equalized from pot splitting.

you have to be delusional as fuck to think it was a serious game and they didn't have an agreement

Please show me another game where Nestea plays split map vs T. I can't ever remember seeing one, can you? How do you have any idea how he'd play in that situation?
i was driving down the road this november eve and spotted a hitchhiker walking down the street. i pulled over and saw that it was only a tree. i uprooted it and put it in my trunk. do trees like marshmallow peeps? cause that's all i have and will have.

Can someone describe to me a max army that could touch MVP's army? I don't care how Nestea blundered in terms of defending expos, his bank was large enough for 4 remaxes. MVP's turtle on side expos was impenetrable, turrets, sensor towers everywhere. As blunderous Nestea's failed drops looked, he was faced without the problem of defeating the cloaked ghost army. Once MVP reached an economy of similar prowess as Nestea, he could start throwing drops everywhere just like a Zerg could throw zerglings away, and Nestea couldn't deal with it.

I blame Shakuras Plateau (which was the best Zerg map in the pool WTF)

Mass lings, 3 or 4 times would've killed MVP at any point which Nestea could've easily done with his 15,000 minerals.

Ok just tested his with my friend a few times. The Zerglings are barely able to reach the Terran army let alone attack. By the time the Zerglings reached the Terran army, the marines alone could clean up the lings. Let alone the planetary, ghosts which 2 shot lings, tanks that kill 10 lings a volley (and there are around 10 tanks...). You're wrong I'm sorry.

You clearly haven't played enough ZvT to realise that when the Terran reaches the 160 supply area, Lings become useless in actual fights and are mainly for drop denial and fodder. Of course with infestors ling are still great but infestors would not have touched MVP there, knowing his micro.

You tested that exact situation with your friends in 6 minutes?

yeah he did nothing with all of those banelings. that doom drop just was terrible

I actually thought he was going to unload all the banes, crash into all the production buildings in the main, and then just repeatedly throw units at MVP until he crumbles. It was disappointing to see the banes just wasted like that.

Why counter push? Just sit there, remake the 20 marines and 5 tanks and 5 ghosts you lost in less than 5 minutes, and you are fine. Thats generous, i don't expect 100 banelings to come close to touching that Terran army.

Exactly, however i will agree getting that many banelings was retarded.
MVP can target fire the Banelings and have about half down in the first volley.

Should have gone for the tons of bls faster, when MVP didnt have as many vikings, and also made 100000 lings and 100000 overseers /sarcasm.

I watched the game for myself and am really not happy they Nestea is allowed to throw it away like that. I would doubt there was any collusion, but he gifted away that game for his dear friend.

I've never seen such terrible play, strategically. There were a solid 10 minutes in that game that "A" move from Nestea would have won the game... yet, he refused.

Not agreeing with the guy that says that they did it (nor denying it), but TT1 and Fenix did it when they were on fnaticmsi for the Gamecune thing I believe

thats just an example though

Final game wasn't nearly as good as people are making it out to be, they just mistake 'good' with 'long'. Nestea played like a freakin idiot during the lategame and failed to utilize any skill he has

I'm now writing this angry post, because my hatred for the game's balance is totally objective, and is not at all related to any type of miserable online life with multiple stupid losses because of my own failures, that I blame the game balance for ...

This this this, and this is coming from a hardcore terran hater. The last game was awful and Im calling it rigged because I dont buy that theyd actually play like this. I think not calling this rigged is actually way more disrespectful. This was either rigged or nestea was REALLY tired. He completly fell apart, stayed on way too many drones, wasted 100 banelings in a drop that didnt even do anything, then build 30 broodlords with nooo backup?!
