I don't have to believe it. When he went after the harassing mutas, he sent his Colossi also. I would think they should be on a separate hotkey. Plus, even with his weird set-up, the control groups would probably still show up. It just looks weird because it's not "standard" (1-3ish army, 4 nexii, etc)

its an observation not a balance whine,but true,you should not generalize your play with overall play of a race.

if you invest heavily into phoenix, they're useless against roach. Also in general no unit that's good against Muta is good against roachling.

I really don't know much about protoss strategy, but what is better a pheonix opening or a VR opening.

bad force fields bad macro bad scouting He doesn't play like that on his stream at all, that's what's weird. He just seems to fall apart in these tournaments. He really isn't a bad player.
As with DeMuslim there's a bit of a difference about doing well on ladder streams (even playing it enough to #1 in EU/US) and doing well in tournaments.
I'd like Tyler to get back to what he is probably capable of... but... he hasn't shown any glimpses of it in these games

Well, Tyler's good at saving void rays at least.

Phoenixes are better. With VR you have to bank on doing damage and it doesn't actually give you map control. With phoenixes you're not crippled when you fail to snipe off queens/whatever.

i disagree especially in regards to tyler's build. the VR play a crucial role in forcing july to play two base.

tyler change your gates :-{

tyler should double forge to try and keep up with upgrades

Neither July nor Tyler had burrow move or Blink (respectively) in that battle. . .

It doesn't force july to playing two base it forces july to delay his third by a minute or so which isn't that big of a deal(as it used to be). With VRs you have an extremely slow transition into a useful army composition whereas phoenixes allow a lot more flexibility.

I think the point is to force the Zerg to play 2base for a while (at least, that's what Tyler said on SotG I believe). It just didn't really work out, I guess, though I'm not really sure what would be considered a success with the build.
