Didn't Fenix say he was withdrawing from NASL? Or was this game played before he withdrew?

My picks:
DeMuslim 2-0 Vibe (Vibe's done better than he started off last season perhaps, but I think DeMuslim is still a tier above him)
Hero 2-1 White-Ra (I think they're both players who enjoy doing cute special things, but that Hero is the overall stronger player)
Lowely 2-0 Cruncher (played pretty solidly against both White-ra and Hero)
I thought Fenix had withdrawn, but if not then Sheth 2-0 Fenix due to lag issues (especially terrible for dodging things like Banelings and Fungals)

i have been enjoying NASL for the most part this season, and sheth casting with gretorp is pretty awesome.

however...

I have a low quality stream and no chat.........i mean i understand being forced to pay for an HD quality stream, but chat as well...? i dono. it really just discourages me from watching at all. there is not a stream in the world that i could ever want to watch where i cant at least engage in an IRC style chat. doesnt make much sense to me. If there is a reason why such a service should require a payed subscription im all ears but it doesnt seem necessary.

thanks

I don't remember the last time I was able to chat on the NASL stream. It makes me sad.

Yes, that's what I was referring to? He pretty much destroyed all of the mutas and had NOTHING to fear from 60 lings, only the 5 broods hatching right on the cliff.

Funniest thing I have seen in a while. Baneling purposefully unborrows so that the command center can land and the banes can blow up the subsequently arriving mules / SCVs. :D

Pretty nifty game sense by Sheth. Who says the T is ahead when he's 40 supply down? He looks pretty smart.

Vibe gets immediate evo chamber- still no upgrades.

May cost him the series against terrible Demuslim.

Yeah, I rolled my eyes when he said that... then demuslim came back. Granted a lot of it was because vibe is playing just awful.

What bothers me the most is that Vibe definitely has the funding to get ground upgrades. He had/has plenty of time to get them. Don't understand what Vibe could be thinking about.

This game is a prime example for the power of upgrades. Doesn´t help, that Vibe has pretty bad army control. Sheth is really suffering while comentating this game.

It's lookin like platinum night at the NASL. Worst series of games I've ever seen from Demuslim by a large margin.

So true. So disappointed by his play. </3

Demuslim should have lost this. The strange gold expo, which left natural and main undefended. Moving his army in one big chunk, leaving holes everywhere. Unsieged tanks, not splitting marines, etc.

Only thing that was decent was his macro.

Wow, this last game of the DeMuslim vs Vibe series was awesome, I mean we just saw one of the best micro and decision making during battles, which allowed so many battles to be won by the lesser army of the terran. It was an awesome comeback after that huge baneling hit on those marines mid-game as the terran was near the fourth of Vibe.
Huge props to Demuslim for showing us a good game! Damn!

Yeah well was just talking about Demuslim because I was expecting much more of him.

But I am sure Vibe can play better, too.

The only positive thing, is he played pretty well at IPL and considering this is NASL, this happened a couple of weeks ago, so he is still playing good. Also I watched his stream the other day, he seemed to be playing well.

Bad attack by White-Ra, the Immortal just did so much damage in that attack.
With an average game length of 7m36s over his 6 games in GSL3, this is a no-brainer. BitByBit pulls more SCVs than yo momma at a club on Mar Sara. ♞

Still, that was a pretty smart move considering that WhiteRa didn't know the size of the army at the base of his ramp.

Not really. He got wrecked by Ret in... the open bracket, I think it was? It wasn't even close.

Right. He did as well as Machine, Spanishiwa, and KawaiiRice. Very nice guys, but DeMuslim's been suuuper-hyped up and I wish he'd show some really good results.

Don't be an idiot. Look at demuslim's record lately in nasl/mlg etc, he's beat a lot of good players. Demuslim had to fight all the way through the open bracket to make it to the championship bracket again in IPL3 just like last mlg, it's a lot more taxing than pool play. So what he lost to ret after that? Ret beats a lot of good players.

Demuslim had a bad day today (rather whenever this was actually taped, aka ages ago for nasl), happens to everyone, and he still won. No reason to flame the guy, he was out of commission for a few months with a broken arm and yet he is now still pretty good, he works really hard and he is improving rapidly.

Why does whitera transition from the 3 stalker rush into 4gate? I thought the whole idea behind the 3 stalker rush was to be able to defend against an offensive 4gate while transitioning into robo/blink tech.

It's pretty popular nowadays, Hwangsin and (more importantly) Naniwa do this all time (see Naniwa v Genius in GSTL Game 7, where Genius scouts the 3stalker rush and then grabs a double gas, proceeds to lose).

During IPL he had to play Puma in the open bracket and lost to 1/1/1, there were also supposedly alot of technical problems during his game, his computer lagged really badly so they decided not to play his pool and randomize it instead .. or something like that

Tyler's going to have a lot of trouble with his group at Orlando. Huk, Hero, MC, and July are all in his group and Tyler hasn't performed well in many many months.

Tyler's going to have a lot of trouble with his group at Orlando. Huk, Hero, MC, and July are all in his group and Tyler hasn't performed well in many many months.

Anything else than Tyler finishing last in his group would be a big surprise and a good sucess for him.

Well I suppose that Lowely really didn't have a coherent strategy following up his failed attack at the beginning.

Cruncher looks pretty solid. Really like his play. It stands out from many other static protoss players like HuK and the Koreans that play very uninspirational imo.

Gretorp said that 1/7 of all people are color blind? That's about 14%...

"About 8 percent of males, but only 0.5 percent of females, are color blind in some way or another, whether it is one color, a color combination, or another mutation.[15][16] "

Sigh. This isn't the first factoid I've noticed that Gretorp has dropped.

Hmmm, I never really like it when a solo cast has to occur. It either gets a bit monotonous (as we can hear with Gretorp at the moment), or the cast is filled with awkward pauses at different intervals.

I get the impression he is fed up with playing with a high latency from the Korea on the NA server, and just all ined to either win or lose quickly.

Latency problems.. I guess it has to do with the IM house connection being pretty sucky to play cross-server.. remember when MVP lost to Adelscott and Nestea lost to Goody? I might be wrong but after that not a single top player from IM has played in tournaments online...

The only positive thing, is he played pretty well at IPL and considering this is NASL, this happened a couple of weeks ago, so he is still playing good. Also I watched his stream the other day, he seemed to be playing well.

I watched DeMuslim ladder a few weeks ago after he'd come back from a week's holiday, and his play was completely lackluster - he lost several matches to players he would normally stomp. Perhaps this series was played around then. I suspect his play is particularly sensitive to lack of practice.

Day[9] also commented once on DeMuslim having particularly bad tournament nerves, which can't help.

One thing I've noticed about DeMusliM from watching his stream, and I think it is one of his best qualities as a player and it was something that was on display in Games 2 and 3 is that when he gets behind, whether be because of build order, or a mistake like have an army get taken out in the middle of the map - his is somehow, usually through micro able to claw and scrap his way back into the game.

He was soooo far behind in game 3 against vibe but he kept dealing with the harrassment without leaving too much army and was able to claw his way back into the game eventually winning. And to be sure, poor play from Vibe definitely was a factor, but still.

I'm really enjoying Orb's commentary. He's comfortable speaking, knowledgeable, and articulates well. I really wouldn't mind seeing him commentate more regularly.

gretorp should really stop using the phrase: "he's basically saying that.."
would really improve his commentating.

And yeah, too bad white-ra lost

To me it looks like whitera doesnt know how to play pvp.
He goes for a defensive build in order to defend against 4 gate, thus forces the enemy to play defensive himself (hero gets a second gas), but then whitera proceeds to transition from that defensive opening into an agressive one which can never be successful after you have forced the enemy to go into the defensive.

His decision making doesnt make any sense right now.

What the hell is Fenix doing in this series? Two marine/scv rushes, both fail horribly. Who goes marine/scv on Crevasse and cross position Taldarim? Makes no sense.

Why is Fenix pulling off an all-in strat again? Didn't work either time.

I get the impression he is fed up with playing with a high latency from the Korea on the NA server, and just all ined to either win or lose quickly.

I hope so, I remember him saying that it was almost impossible to play with that latency.

But hey, didn't Hero stomp White-Ra today nonetheless?

I'd assume they're both in the US though, considering they're going to be at MLG Orlando. :L

Nah, these NASL games are not that up to date.

They are only like one day old.

From the LR thread for W1D4, September 18: "Did he basically just say that this was played in August?"

From LR for W2D3, September 24: "A week before Valencia, holy shit. It is pretty freaking old." In the interview with Idra he talked about the upcoming DreamHack Valencia Invitational. DHV was played September 17.

In W3D3, October 01, Gretorp talk about Naniwa in Dignitas. Naniwa was officially in compLexity September 21.

Then we have the Strelok interview blunder. Yeah..let's just try to forget that one. >.<

I don't mind that the games and the cast is kinda "old", but let's keep it real, m'kay?

Your stream is not made of solid gold.

Gretorp's commentary is not made of solid gold either.

So why?

Vibe vs Demusilm was awesome! Last game was so exciting. I am sure Vibe was kicking himself after that game. Demusilm also looked very unconcerned with keeping his scvs safe from banelings.
Also, Thanks for Getorp for thinking about the color blind. :D
